AN ORDINANCE CONVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE JUDGES OF THE SPECIAL
CITY ELECTION HELD ON AUGUST 4, 1953, FOR THE OFFICE OF CITY MARSHALL
AND DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF AND PROVIDING FOR AN ISSUANCE OF
CERTI ICATE OF ELECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Board of Aldermen do hereby canvass the
return of the judges of the special election held on August 4, 1953
for the office of City Marshall and finds and declares that on the
face of the returns of the said judges the returns of said special
election to be as follows:
Charles E. Atwell 101
Frank Ward 10
C. J. Cox 1
Section 2. That upon the face of the return of the judges,
Charles E. Atwell was elected to said office of City Marshall to
serve the unexpired term ending April 6, 1954, or until his successor
be elected and qualified and according to said returns said
Charles E. Atwell is entitled to a certificate of election to be
issued by the city clerk.
Section 3. The city clerk is hereby authorized
and directed to issue a certificate of election to Charles E. Atwell
as the successful candidate certifying his election to the office
of City Marshall and for the term above set forth.
