SB'CTION 1. It is deemed to be to the best interests of the
citizens of the City of Riverside, B+Li.ssouri, and in the furtherance
of their health, safety, and ,~ener<:1 welfare that regulations be
issued by the Board of Aldermen controllin<__; and regulating the
creation of dust and the disc'na.r~e thereof' into the air by any
business, factory, rock quarry or racetrack operating tiait~iin
one-Half mile of any residents or ar_y buildings used for residential
purposes within the city limits of the City of hiverside, Missouri.
SECTION 2. No owner or manager of any business, factory, rock
quarr~r, or r~~cetrack ope =;tiny- within one-t,.alf raaile of any residents
or any bui7Ld:ins;s used for residents al purpose with _n. th.e city limits of to
City of R~_verside, P~Iissouri, shall permit or allow dust, esther from
the c--round or fromany ot'ner L~.ateri<:1 nardled or processed or in any
way used on said prexraises, to be issued Forth into the air in such
Quantities <s to cause it to drift or float in the air across an.y
z~ublic highway to such an extent ~~s to otscure the vision of ary
person usinc such public his>hwa.y or thorou; hfare in the Ci ter limii.ts
of the C~.tv of Riverside nor in such o,uar_tities or to such extent
^s to cause it to be deposited upon. the property or premises of a.ry
residents or any buildings used for residential purposes in the
Cit,T of Riverside, LYi:ssouri, in quantities sufficient to cause das~~a„e
or an unusual amount of dirt accu~ulatson on such residential
pr•op:rt,~j.
SECTION 3. Any person violating; the terrr~s of this ordinance
shill be subject to arrest and. upon conviction to a fine of not
more than ~;-100.00 or to imprison~r~;nt in the city jail or the county
jail, if there is no city jail, or uoth such fine and irnpri.son~nt
a.nd costs. Each da-~T in which the terms of this ordinance are violat-
ed by any person shall constitute a separate oL'fense.
