HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-206-5 - Appropriation of Property for Widening of Larson Road~~ ~~~ S ~/ ~ ~ ~~ s ~~ BILL NUMBER ~4 `- ~~-~% ORDINANCE NUMBER ~- O 6 AN ORDINANCE DEEMING IT NECESSARY THAT PRIVATE PROPERTY BE CON- DEMNED AND APPRGPRIATED FOR PUBLIC USE FUR THE PURPOSE OF WIllENING CARSON ROAD; DEFINING TIIE LIMITS OF THE BENEFIT DISTKICT WITHIN WHICH PRIVATE PROPERTY SIiALL BE DEEMED BENEFITED AND ASSESSED TC PAY FOR SUCH IMPROVEMENT; PRESCRIBING THE TIP1E AND MODE OF PAY- MENT OF SUCH ASSESSMENT AND THE PENALTY FUR FAILURE TO PAY THE SAME WHEN DUE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE' BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI , AS FULLUGdS Section 1. It is deemed to be necessary and for the best interests of the citizens of the City of Riverside that Larson Road, a city street in said city, be widened from a twenty foot right-of-way to a fifty foot right-of-way and that for that pur- pose and use private property must be taken and appropriated, which private property is described as follows: Any interest owned by private persons in a tract of land beginning at the Northeast corner of Tract "E", Cliff Manor, a subdivision of land in Platte County, Missouri according to the recorded plat thereof; thence South 89a 51' 40" East along a line 30 feet south of and parallel to the East and West center line of Section 4, Township 50, Range 33, to its intersection with the Westerly line of U. S. Highway No. 69; thence idortheast- erly along said right-of-way line to its intersection with the East and West center line of Section 4, Town- ship 50, Range 33; thence North 89° 51' 40" West along said East and West center line to its intersection with the Northerly prolongation of the East line of Tract "E", Cliff Manor; thence South 3° 39' 20" West along said Northerly prolongation to the point of beginning. Section 2. The limits of a benefit district within which ~~ private property shall be deemed benefited and shall be assessed to pay for such improvement are as follows: All of Tracts A, B, C, D and E, Cliff Manor, a sub- division of land in Riverside, Platte County, Missouri, according to the recorded plat thereof. Section 3. All such assessments shall be payable in cash within ten days following written notification by the City Clerk to the record owner of each tract within said benefit district. If any such assessment is not paid within said ten day period following written notice from the City Clerk, an additional amount of ten per cent of said assessment shall be due and payable as a _ penalty for such failure to pay such assessment when due.
