Ord9_nances i•;o. 25>R2 of the City of Riverside is hereby repealed and the following provi_si ns are enactsd in lieu thereof. Section 2. It shall re unlawful for ary person, firm, partnerships, or cor:oration t.~ carry on, ope?•ate, maintain, or enl;ar;e in any business of an,y kind or character wittii_r. the limy is of the Citg of i;i_verside, I'iissouri vri_thout first obtaining; an occupation license for such business, which license shall 'ce issued by the City to such person, firm, partnership, or cor~or^tion u~~on proper application being made therefor and payment of the fee prescribed by the Board of Alder- men. No such license shall be transferable ore ssignable. Each license shall be issued for a designated addres;~ or location within the Cit:~ of Riverside and shall not betsod for any other location with- in the City of Riverside unless s~_~plication to move the location of such business shall first have been made to the Board of Aldermen and permission granted by the Board of P.ti ermen. Section 3. Any person, firm partnership or corporation c'esiring to enter into any business or occupation wi_tt~in the Cf_ty, t,rhich business or occupation is not above listed and the fee for such occupational license pre:cribed by the terms of this ordinance, shall a.~ply for an occuFa tional license from the Board of Aldermen and the Boa?~d of :.ldermen upon such ap~,lication shall s et the fee to be charged per year for such occupational license for such occupation or business and others like it, As regards t!tose persons applying, for s renewal of their occupation license, no proration of the license fee fora period less than one year shall be pcrrnitted, but for any pe sons a;ry~lyin~~ for an occupation license for the first time from the City of Riverside, p.ro-ration shall be pcrrnitted on the basis of not less than one,-third rl/3) of said license fee for any portion of the year remaining which shall be less than one-third (1/3) of the calendar year and two-thirds(2/3) of the license fee for any portion of the year rem^irin wi~ich shall be more than one-third (1/3) and less than two-thirds (2/3~ of the calendar ye~.r. There shall be no pro- ration of such license for seasonal business or lic,uor licenses. Potl?ing in this ordnance shall apply to licuor-by-the drink or intoxicat- ing beer or non-intoxicating beer licenses. Section 6. Occupational licenses for the operation of a garage business shall be issued for no more than one quarter of a calendar year and shall be successively renewable for no more than one quarter of a calenderAyear at a time. „The fee to be paid for such garage occupation license shall L•e ~aS.Q'0 per quarter of the calendar year with no pro- ration for any portion of such nuarter. All operators of licensed garages shall keep the premises on which such business is looted in a neat and orderly condition and shall not permit the accumulation thereon of junk, tr~s~, deUris and wrecked vehicles, Any licensee holding a garage license, who shall have abided by the req~!irer:rents of this ordinance and the other ordinances of the City of Riverside, s'~iall be entitled to have his occupation license renewed :From such quarter license period to the next cuarter license period upon making application therefor and pa Ting the fee herein prescribed. Any licensee who shall violate the terms of th?_s ordinance or other ordinances of the City of Riverside, may in the dis- cretion of the Board of A1~'ermen be denied the renewal of said license. Section ~. The term of all occupational licenses shall commence on January 1 r:nd expire on ?~ecember 31 of each year except as provided herein. Section 8. Ii' any occuaption license shall not b e renewed and the holder hereof shall c ~ntinue the operation of such business, t he f ee to b e charges for such occupation license shall be increased 25o if such renewal license a-relied for after r'ebruary 1 of the succeeding calendar year and shall increase 50~ if such renewal license is not a->pli ed for before Parch 1 of such succeeding; calendar year. Section 9.
