HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-269 - Prohibition of Public Display of Naked PersonBILL N0. 02. 7b ORDINANCE N0. -~~O /` AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PUBLIC DISPLAY OF THE NAKED PERSON, THE PUBLICATION, SALE OR EXHIBITION OF OBSCENE BOOKS AND PRINTS, AND THE PUBLIC DISPLAY OF MOTION PICTURES WITHIN THE VIEW OF MINORS GJHICH PICTURES ARE CUSTOMARILY EXHIBITED TO AUDIENCES OVER SIB{TEEN YEARS OF AGE, .4ND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. It is hereby declared to be unlawful for any person to promote or engage in the public display of the naked person or to promote, manage, or exhibit any motion pictures the viewing of which is customarily restricted to an audience of over sixteen years of age, which pictures are shown upon an outside screen so that they can be seen by minors under the age of sixteen years while such minors are upon the public streets and highways in the City of Riverside; or for any person to engage in the publication, sale or exhibition of any obscene books or prints. Section 2. Any person violating the terms of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of not more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or imprisonment in jail for not more than ninety (90) days or both such fine and imprisonment and costs.
