HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-277-01 - License and Regulation of Operators of Private ambulancesBILL N0 . ~ -~ ORDINANCE N0 , ~ 7 7" AN ORDTdAi1CE LICENSING AiVD REGULATING OPERATORS OF PRIVATE AMBULANCES; REGULA- TING DRIVERS AND ATTENDANTS OF PRIVATE AMBULANCES; AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF ITS PROVISIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY TI-IE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS ..OWS: SECTION I. Definitions. (A) "Ambulance'' is any privately owned vehicle equipped or used for trans- porting the wounded, injured, sick or dead, and shall include but is not restrcited to emergency vehicles used for such purposes, invalid coaches and funeral coaches. SECTIOiy II. License Required. City of Riverside, license as hereinafter provided. bvs.'x ~s No person shall operate an ambulance^i;ge~ Missouri without first obtaining a SECTION III. Application for License. Applications for licenses hereunder shall be made upon blank forms prepared by the City Clerk and shall contain: (A) The name and address of the owner of the ambulance. (B) The description of the ambulance, including the make, model, year of mom. _facture, Missouri State license number for the current year. (C) The location and description of the place or places from which it is intended to operate. SECTION IV License Fee. An application hereunder shall accompanied by a license fee of aJ =° Dollars. SECTION V. Insurance Policy: An applicant hereunder shall file with the City Clerk, an insurance policy to be approved by the City Clerk providing insurance coverage for each and every ambulance owned, operated and/or leased by the app- licant for injury to or death of persons in accidents resulting from any cause for which the owner of said vehicle would be liable on account of any liability imposed on him by law, regardless of whether the ambulance was being driven by the owner, his agent or lessee, and as against damage to the property of another, including personal property, under like circumstances, in sums as the minimum requirements set by the Missouri Motor Vehicle Responsibility Act. .TION VI. All licenses issued hereunder shall be subject to such other re- ~quirements and regulations as shall from time to time be in acted by the City and the City reserves the right to in act such regulations as shall be for the benefit of the health and welfare of the people of the City of Riverside, Missouri. SECTION VII. Any person or persons violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or by imprisonment in the City jail of not more than 30 dams or both such fine and imprisonment.
