HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-343-03 - Permit Required to Connect to Public SewerBILL NUMBER ~ f L3 -~ ORDINANCE NUMBER ~ ~-~ --3 _ AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING ANY PERSON FROM BREAKING INTO, CONNECTING INTO OR MAINTAINING A CONNECTION INTO ANY PUBLIC SEWER IN THE CITY UNLESS SUCH PERSON SHALL FIRST HAVE OBTAINED A PERMIT FOR SUCH CON- NECTION AND PAID THE REQUIRED CONNECTION FEE, PROVIDING REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCH PERMIT AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF THE TERMS HEREOF . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. No person shall break into or make a connection into or maintain a connection into any public sewer in the city limits of the City of Riverside without first paying the required connection fee and obtaining a permit in writing so to do from the Board of Aldermen of the city. Section 2. Any person desiring to break into or make a connec- tion into any public sewer shall first make application for a per- mit to so do and such application shall be accompanied by plans and specifications showing the proposed plan for such connection and materials to be used. Further such application shall include the agreement of the applicant that the work will be done in a manner satisfactory to the City Engineer and that said applicant will at his own expense make any repairs or redo. such work if, upon inspec- tion by the City Engineer, it shall be necessary because of variance from said plans and specifications. Section 3. The fee to be paid by any such applicant shall be set by the Board of Aldermen. Section 4. Any person violating the terms of this ordinance by breaking into or connecting into any public sewer without such permit shall be subject to arrest and, upon conviction, shall be fined not more than One Hundred Dollars and each day that such connection shall be existent prior to the issuance of a permit therefor shall be deemed to be a separate offense. Section 5. Wherever the title City Engineer is used in this ordinance, it shall be deemed to mean also Acting City Engineer if the City has no resident City Engineer. ~~.~ ~~• PASSED this ~ day of -, 1967.
