HomeMy WebLinkAbout1951-01 - Prohibition of Trailer CampsORDINANCE NO. 1 as amended AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT THE USE OF LAND IN CITY OF RIVERSIDE FOR TRAILER CAMPS, PARKING AND STORAGE OF TRAILERS AND FOR THE STORAGE OF SCRAP IRON, METAL, JUNK AND AUTO 6"JRECKING. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, AS FOLLOWS: That Ordinance No. 1 be and it is hereby amended to read as follows: That for the purpose of promotion of health, safety and morals, or the general welfare of the community, the following regulations, restrictions and prohibitions regarding the use of land, are hereby imposed: That no land within the limits of the City of Riverside, Missouri, shall henceforth be used as a trailer camp or for the incidental parking and/or storage of trailers, ("Trailer camp" as herein defined shall mean the parking and/or storage of more than 2 trailers, and "incidental parking and/or storage of trailers" shall mean not more than 2 trailers); that no land in said city shall henceforth be used for the storage of scrap iron, metal, junk, or waste of any and all kinds or for auto wrecking yards; Provided, however, that any land within the limits of said City of Riverside, Missouri, being lawfully used for any of the above purposes at the time of passage of this Ordinance may be continued to the extent only that the same was then being so used; That violation of this Ordinance by any person or persons, corporation or corporations shall be punishable by fine not to exceed X500.00 and costs, or ninety days imprisonment in the city prison, or in the County jail, if there be no city prison, or both such fine and imprisonment.
