ORDINANCE TO REQUIRE BUILDING PERMIT FOR ANY
CONSTRUCTION WHETHER PERMANENT OR TEMPORARY
"BE IT ORDAINED BY THE Board of Aldermen of the City of River-
side as follows:
That no construction or exterior alteration of any structure of
any kind, whether permanent or temporary, on any land within the
limits of the City of Riverside shall be permitted without the person.
or persons, corporation or corporations constructing same having
first obtained a permit for such construction.
That in order to obtain such permit for construction or exterior
alteration, applicant must state the nature of the construction, pur-
pose for which the building or construction, as the case may be,
shall be used or is intended to be used, location where such cony
struction is to be made, the name of the person or persons, corpora-
tion or corporations constructing same and name of the owner of the
property on which such construction is proposed to be made.
That the fee for such building permit shall be Five Dollars
($5.00) for residential construction or alteration and Twenty-five
Dollars ($25.00) for business construction or alteration for each
and every building or structure, which shall be paid to the City
Collector of the City of Riverside who shall issue such permit
upon payment of said fee with application containing the informa-
tion above required and upon determination by him that such build-
ing or structure for which application is made or the use intended
therefor is not in violation of any ordinance of the City of
Rlverside now or hereafter in effect regarding the use of land
within said city.
That violation of this Ordinance by any person or persons,
corporation or corporations, shall be punishable by fine not to
exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) and costs, or ninety days
imprisonment in the city prison or in the County fail if there
be no such prison, or both such fine and imprisonment."
