Section 1. ^_'hat Ordinance raunb er ~~ of the City of
Riverside is hereby amended to read in words and figures
as follows ;
Section 1. That it shall be unlawful from
and after September 1, 191, within the limits
of the cit,TM to erect or cause or allow to be
erected upon land adjacent to any streets, road
highwlay or thoroughfare any commercial signboard
for advertising display except signboards erected
by or for a licensed business establishment
otierated within the city and upon or at the site
of such business establishment.
Section 2. 'that from and after September 1,
1901, it shall be unlawful. to maintain any
corrunercial signboard within the limits of this
city without first having obtained license for
such signboard, the fees for which to be raid by
the owmer or ownors of such signboard shall be;
(a) "20.00 for each signboard
measuring not more than 2~ feet hori-
zontally or vertically.
(b) "!0.00 for each signboard
measuring more than 2[ feet,~but not
more than KO feet horizontally or
vertically.
(e) ";7~.~0 for each signboard
measuring more than r0 foet, but not
more then 7~~ :eeet horizontally or
vertically.
(d) '';l!JO.JO for each signboard.

Section 3. The horizontal measurements of any
signboard shall be taken on the face thereof from one
outermost extreme of the framew~~ork or any trim thereon
to the other; the vertical measurements of any sign-
board shall be taken from the natural ground level at
the center of the signboard to highest point on the
structure, face or frame~r~ork of said sirrnhnarrl_
