HomeMy WebLinkAbout1951-09-1A - Amendment to Ordinance 9BILL NO. 69 ORDINANCE NO. 69 Renumbered 9A1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 9 BY CORRECTING TYPO- GRAPHICAL ERROR AND AMENDING THE PENALTY CLAUSE OF SAID ORDINANCE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Ordinance Number 9 of the City of Riverside is hereby amended to read in words and figures as follows: Section 1. That it shall be unlawful from and after September 1, 1951, within the limits of the city to erect or cause or allow to be erected, upon land adjacent to any streets, road highway or thoroughfare any commercial signboard for advertising display except signboards erected by or for a licensed business establishment operated within the city and upon or at the site of such business establishment. Section 2. That from and after September 1, 1951, it shall be unlawful to maintain any commercial signboard within the limits of this city without first having obtained license for such signboard, the fees for which to be paid by the owner or owners of such signboard shall be: (a) $25.00 for each signboard measuring not more than 25 feet horizontally or vertically. (b) $50.00 for each signboard measuring more than 25 feet, but not more than 50 feet horizontally or vertically. (c) $75.00 for each signboard measuring more than 50 feet, but not more than 75 feet horizontally or vertically. (d) 100.00 for each signboard measuring more than 75 feet horizontally or vertically. Section 3. The horizontal measurements of any signboard shall be taken on the face thereof from one outermost extreme of the framework or any trim thereon to the other; the vertical measurements of any sign- board shall be taken from the natural ground level at the center of the signboard to highest point on the structure, face or framework of said signboard.
