AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYiOR TO EXECUTE
AN AGREEMENT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH CONTINENTAL
CONSULTING ENGINEERS, INC. FOR THE HORIZONS LIFT STATION AND
SANITARY SEWER PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Riverside, Missouri ("City") has engaged in negotiations with
Continental Consulting Engineers, Inc. ("Continental") for provision of shop drawing review and
construction coordination services related to the Horizons Lift Station and Sanitary Sewer project
under consideration by the City (the "Services").
WHEREAS, the City and Continental have reached an agreement concerning the
provision of and payment for such Services.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside,
Missouri, as follows:
Section 1. This Ordinance is intended and is hereby determined and declared to be necessary to
accomplish and serve the public purpose of constructing the Horizons Lift Station and Sanitary
Sewer project.
Section 2. The City of Riverside shall enter into an agreement whereby Continental shall
provide the Services to the City at a total cost of $66,972.00 (the "Agreement").
Section 3. The execution and delivery of the Agreement, in substantially the form attached
hereto as Exhibit A, is approved, and the Mayor is authorized to execute the Agreement and to
take such other actions reasonably necessary to carry out the intent of this Ordinance on behalf of
the City, the execution of the Agreement being conclusive evidence of such approval.
Section 4. The Mayor, the City Administrator, the City Attorney and other appropriate City
officials are hereby authorized to take any and all actions as may be deemed necessary or
convenient to carry out and comply with the intent of this Ordinance and to execute and deliver
for and on behalf of the City all certificates, instruments, agreements and other documents, as
maybe necessary or convenient to perform all matters herein authorized.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and

Please find attached a contract to provide on-call engineering services for the above
referenced project. The following outlines our proposed scope and fee.

on the submittal schedule provided by Pyramid Excavation.

2. Coordination with City and Contractor. It is estimated that the resources of
the following individuals will be required to answer questions and provide
coordination with the City, Contractor, and Equipment Suppliers. The
Contractor, Pyramid Excavation has provided a construction schedule that
extends for a period of 12 months.

Based on the proposed submittal and construction schedule, we agree to provide the
services outlined in items 1 and 2 above on an hourly basis for a not to exceed fee of
$66,972. Upon approval of the attached Fee proposal for shop drawing review and on-
call engineering services we will commence with review of shop drawings and
addressing contractor questions. Reimbursement of billings for travel, prints, deliveries
and all other direct costs incurred for the project will be charged at direct costs.
As stated previously, the contractor shop drawings will be reviewed based on the shop
drawings schedule submitted by the contractor. Should additional shop drawings be
submitted for review, should substantial re-submittals be required, or should the
contractor propose materials as substitutions to those incorporated in the plans, then
addtional fees may apply. Any additiona- effort on our part during the construction of this
project, including additional design modrfications will be billed at our standard hourly
rates, a copy of which is attached.
