AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE JUDGES OF THE GENERAL
CITY ELECTION HELD ON APRIL 1, 1952, FOR CITY OFFICES AND DECLARING
THE RESULTS THEREOF AND PROVIDING FOR THE: ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES
OF ELECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TIL BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Board of Aldermen does hereby canvass the
returns of the judges of the general city election held on April 1,
1952, for city offices and finds and declares that on the face of
the returns of the said judges the results of the said general
election to be as follows:

Section 2. That upon the face of the returns of the judges,
F.F. Filger, Sr. was elected to the office of Mayor, Ed Young was
elected to the office of Alderman for the First Ward, Mrs. Frances
Clark was elected to the office of Alderman for the Second Ward,
O.F. Peach was elected to the office of Alderman for the Third
Ward, Florence Gusewelle was elected to the office of City Collector,
D.B. Swetnam was elected to the office of Police Judge, and Vernon
Armer was elected to the office of Marshal, and each of them to

serve for a term of two years or until their successors are
elected and qualified and they according to said returns are
entitled to certificates of election to be issued by the Acting City Clerk.
Section 3. That upon the face of the returns of the judges
Lowell Brenner was elected to the office of Alderman for the First
Ward, Roy Renner was elected to the office of Alderman for the
Second Ward, and William T. Scrivner was elected to the office
of Alderman for the Third Ward, each of them to serve for a term
of one year or u til their successors are elected and qualified,
and they according to said returns are entitled to certificates of
election to be issued by the Acting City Clerk.
Section 4. The Acting City Clerk is hereby directed to
issue certificates of election to each of the above named successful
candidates certifying their election to their respective offices
and for the terms above set forth.
