AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN OCCUPATION LICENSE FOR THE SALE
OF FIRE WORKS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF TIE CITY OF RIVERSIDE
AND PROVIDING PERIODS IN WHICH FIRE WORKS MAY BE SOLD IN SAID
CITY OF RIVERSIDE AND PROVISIONS FOR STANDS AND REMOVAL OF
TEMPORARY STANDS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person,
firm or corporation to sell or offer for sale within the city
limits of the City of Riverside any fire works unless such
person, firm or corporation shall have first obtained from the
City Collector an occupation license for the sale of such fire
works and shall have paid to the City Collector the fee pre-
scribed herein.
Section 2. The fee for occupation license for the
sale of fire works shall be $5.00 per running foot of sales
counter or display counter, which ever shall be the larger,
for outdoor stands. A fee of $5.00 per foot with a minimum
of $15.00 shall be charged for display or counter space, which
ever is the larger within existing buildings.
Section 3. It shall be unlawful for any person,
firm or corporation to sell any fire works at any location
which is not zoned for retail business by the zoning ordinance
of the City of Riverside.
Section 4. It shall be unlawful for any person,
firm or corporation to sell fire works from a car or truck
or in any other manner than from either an existing building
or from a temporary or immanent stand.
Section 5. Any temporary stands erected for the
purpose of the sale of fire works must be removed following
the end of the period for which the license for the sale of
such fire works is issued.
Section 6. The license for fire works for any year
shall cover a period frorn June 1 until midnight July 5 and any
retail sales of fire works during any other time of the year
is hereby prohibited.
