TUNE 2, 1998
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri
was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on Junc 2, 1998 at 7:30 p.m.
Those in attendance were Mayor Ed Rule, Aldermcn Ron Supcr, Brenda Teters,
Pamela Darata. Bctty Burch, Ray Beard and George Flaws.
Also present wcre Ann Daniels, City Administrator, Steve Crystal, City
Attorney, Bob Bayless, Chief of Public Safety and Irene Paulhe, Sccrctary to the
Board.
Minutes of 5-19-98 Alderman Beard moved to approve the minutes of May 19,

Barbara LaBasse, Barbara LaBasse, representative of Missouri Gas Energy
Representative of Company wanted to let the City know that they are doing
Missouri Gas some work on the gas lines in Riverside, Missouri which
Energy Company. they were required to do by the Public Servicc
Commission. Ms LaBasse said that if there are any
problems they should notify her and she will do what she
can to take care of them and certainly does not want the
City to think they are doing nothing.

Ann Daniels Ann Daniels, City Administrator. said we are still

Administrator's awaiting the news release Prom the Postal Servicc on the
remarks ZIP code and new Post Office. Daniels thinks it will be
in a day or two.
Community Center Ann Daniels said the Dedication of the Community Center
went very well, although there are still a few things
which have to be worked out with the contractor. The
Swimming Pool opened on Sunday, May 31. 1998. The City
is still in the process of receiving applications for
life guards. Ann Daniels said that she recommends the
employment of Michael Brockmeier as full time Building
Maintenance Custodian for both the Community Center and
the City Hall Building.

Motion by Alderman Alderman Burch moved to amend the Appendix "Land Use
Burch re Land Use Category" of Title IV. Land Usc of the Municipal Codes
Category (Financial of the City of Rivcrsidc, Missouri by including a

authorizing businesses in this category to be placcd in
the Light Industry District with a Special Use Permit.

Bill N0. 98-56 Alderman Burch moved to place Bili No. 98-56 on its first
Amends Appendix rcading. said Bill amends the Appendix "Land Use
"Land Use Catcgory" Category" of Title IV. Land Use of the Municipal Codcs
as Financial Services of the City of Riverside, Missouri by including a
in Light Industrial catcgory to be known as Financial Services and
District w/Special authorizing businesses in this category to be placed in

Larry Gromer Larry Gromer, 4502 NW Gateway. said he had worked hard
4502 NW Gateway. to get the said address amended to include Financial
Services and thinks the City is making a big mistake.
He said the person who was going to use this building was
going to make $100.000 improvements. Mr. Gromer said he
sill now try to lease it for mechanical work and will
only change the name on the building and hopes the City
will be happy.
Alderman Super. Alderman Super suggested that lights be installed around
the Community Center. This will be checked into.
Alderman Super also inquired regarding the floors in the
rest rooms. Ann Daniels said this situation will be
corrected.
Alderman Darata. Alderman Darata mentioned that with all the construction
happening on High Drive, there seems to be no one
watching the large equipment and the traffic and
sometimes this seems to be quite dangerous. Ann Daniels
said she would check into this.
Alderman Flaws. Alderman Flaws said that on Riverside Street. no one is
watching the traffic and this could become quite
dangerous. Ann Daniels will check into this.
Alderman Burch. Alderman Burch brought up several items appearing in the
Municipal League Letter and City Attorney Steve Crystal
will check into these matters and report back to the
City.
Alderman Beard. Alderman Beard said there were quite a large amount of
keys for the Community Building and recommended a master
key. Ann Daniels said this matter has been handled.
Alderman Burch. Alderman Burch inquired if there is something that can
be done to get started on a new City Hall building.
Alderman Super. Alderman Super said he looked over the drainage situation
at the Harris'. Ann Daniels said that the City
Engineer. Dick Winner. is working on this.
Adjournment. Alderman Teters moved that the meeting adjourn. seconded
by Alderman Super the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Super. Teters. Darata. Burch. Beard and
Flaws.
