CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
May 10, 1983
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Mo.
on May 10, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call, aldermen Karr, Gordy,
Rodeberg, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner were present, Mayor Holmes
calling said meeting to order.
William Head 400 N. Wheeling, Kansas City, MO 6413, presented
business license application for a Swap and Shop at Harry's Outl~t~ cussed
parking lot. He planned on having 50 sellers. This matter wash
and a research of outside business would be made and Mayor Holmes
would contact Mr. Head concerning this matter (231 0333), letting him
know what what information he would have to have.
John Brown, 405 N.W. 44th Street, Gladstone, MO 64116 (ELKA En-
terprise) inquired concerning his developing the property where the
Drive-In Theatre was. He plans to turn it into a business area and
would like to have the zoning changed to something in the neighborhood
of light industry. He intends to hook into the public sewer system.
He and Purcell Construction have purchased the property. They also
plan to fill in to the 100 year flood; they would also change the en-
trance sign and take care of the surface drainage. He was advised
that he would have to apply for the rezoning at the Planning Commis-
sion.
-- Mr. Barry, 553 Bluegrass Drive, Bonner Springs, Kansas, inquired
if he could have a little longer to remove the partially burned
mobile home. He said he would like to salvage some of the lumber in
it. The Mayor and Board agreed to let him have until Monday, May 16,
1983 and no later.
Chief Wingo requested permission to purchase 1000 feet of fire
hose and a radio totalling approximately $1400.00.
Rodeberg moved that Chief Wingo be permitted to purchase 1000
feet of fire hose for the sum of $1140 and purchase one radio for $389
seconded by Karr, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Karr,
Gordy, Rodeberg, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner voted aye.
John Messon of Park College said they hope to rent the CMI
Building to have some summer classes, and also as a gym.
Bill Barth of William Brothers Pipeline inquired as to a permit
to allow them to start repairing the area of Line Creek where their
pipe is exposed.
The Road Committee requested permission to have VanDepopulier
Mattox and Deconich roads repaired.
Karr moved that the City accept the Road Committee's recommenda-
tion and contract with the Special Road District to put gravel on the
above mentioned roads, seconded by Gordy, the roll was called and
- votes were as follows: Karr, Gordy, Rodeberg, Peeler, Wedua and Bren-
ner voted aye.

The Budget for 1983-84 was discussed.
The Mayor and Board of Aldermen then went into executive session.
The meeting reconvened. On a roll call Aldermen Karr, Gordy,
Rodeberg, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner were present, Mayor Holmes preciding
over remainder of meeting.
There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and
passed, meeting adjourned at 10:30 p.m.
