HomeMy WebLinkAbout1983-09-27REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI September 27, 1983 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City Hall Ri rside, Missouri on September 27, 1983.. at 7:30 p.m. On 'a /re~ Karr, Gordy, Peeler, Wedua, and Brenner were present, Mayor Holmes calliing said meeting to order. It was decided to postpone the reading of the minutes of Sep - tember 20, 1983. Stanley F'oa, 7214 N.W. Kearns, Parkville, Missouri, presented application for free standing sign at 4710 N.W. Gateway at "Our Place" Restaurant. Said application was approved subject to the payment of the fee. Gordy moved that Bill No. 83-34 being bill amending the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Riverside, Missouri be placed on its first reading, seconded by Karr, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Karr, Gordy, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner voted aye; said bill was ac ordingly read. Wedua moved that Bill No. 83-34 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Gordy, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Karr, Gordy, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. Larry Adams, 4547 N.E. 56th Street, K.C., Missouri 64119; along with Daniel S. Peak, 411 W. 59th Terr., Kansas City, MO 64113 Charles R. Logan, 8010 N. Oak, K.C., MO 64118 and Lloyd Brown, 4045 Jacaranda, Brownsville, TX 78520, all present concerning Riverside Business Park and to secure building permits. Plans and topography maps were presented along with building applcations. This matter was discussed and it was brought out that the drainage plan would have to be approved by the City Engineer and since a it was recommended by the City that a more detailed map of the topography and drainage map be made before presenting to the Engineer, it was agreed to do this and the City would then have the City Engineer look it over. Mr. Brown said he would deliver the maps to -the Engineer. A recess was called. Meeting reconvened. The roll was called and Karr, Gordy, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner were present; Mayor Holmes presiding over remainder of meeting. Mr. Lloyd Brown said he would do everything necessary to expedite the approval of the plans in order to enable them to start the buildings. It was also suggested that a letter from Missouri Highway department be secured showing that they have approved the plans. A letter dated September 19, 1983, from Valley Hope Association Regular Meeting of Board of Aldermen Page 2, Sept. 27, 1983. requesting that the City accept a Resolution setting a certain day with respect to Alcohol Anonymous Day and also requested that liquor not be sold on that day. It was agreed that this resolution would be modified and Valley Hope Association would be notified of the accpetance of the Resolution as modified. A lette*- from MARC, dated September 19, 1983, in response to our lettter to Wm. Jack Sassen, Manager, Airports Division, Fair-. fax was read. Enloe and Carbrite people were contacted concerning amount of cars parked in the back. This will be checked into further. It was reported that Ada Wilson of Parkville Special Road District advised that the District was short on funds now and requested that they pay the amound due the City later on in the year. Quit~kTrip requested permission that one of the City Street Lights be removed and then reinstalled to enable them to complete the construction of their building; this would be at QuickTrip's expense. The Mayor and Board agreed to this. There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and passed, meeting adjourned at 11:45 p.m.
