CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI - DECEMBER 6, 1983
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City
of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside
-- on December 6, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call, aldermen
Karr, Gordy, Wedua and Brenner present, Peeler being Mayor
Pro Tem in the absence of Mayor Holmes, and called said
meeting to order.
It was decided to postpone the reading of the minutes
until later.
Mr. Wheeler asked the Board to approve a resolution
approving an Industrial. Loan to John Aldridge and Gloria
Miller, d/b/a Miller Aldridge Chemical, Inc. for a building
in Renner Plaza One for the sum of $440,000.00. Karr moved
that the City accept the resolution, seconded by Gordy,
the roll was called and Karr, Gordy, Wedua and Brenner voted
aye; Peeler being Mayor Pro Tem.
Mr. J. Vantuyl, 344 E. Park St., Claycomo, MO 64110
presented application for business license for signs, letters
and fabricated light signs at 2711 N.W. Vivion. This appli-
cation was approved subject to the payment of the fee.
Elsa Ambros, 4752 Riverside Street, Riverside, MO 64151
presented business license application for manufacturing
of children's clothing at 2702 N.W. Platte Road. This is
a wholesale business only. - This application was approved
subject to the payment of the fee.
Roger Edmond inquired of his changing the sign at the
front of his building. He was advised that he would have
to come to the Planning Commission.
Floyd Best, was present and said he again has come
to ask for contributions - money, toys, etc. to help the
needy families and children during the holiday season.
The Christian Store at Northmoor Methodist Church is partly
sponsored by the United Fund. Personal. contributions were
given to Mr. Best.
Wedua said he had two bids on the filing of the cracks
in the streets. One from Bowen and the other from Booth
- It appearing Booth was the low bidder.
Brenner moved that since Booth was low bidder, that
we accept his bid for the sealing of the cracks in the street
as per his bid, seconded by Karr, the roll was
called and votes were as follows: Karr, Gordy, Wedua and
Brenner voted aye; Peeler being Mayor Pro Tem.
Prices were secured concerning the paving of the pad
at the City Park. After a discusson on this matter, it
was decided to table the paving of the pad until later.
- It was brought out that there was a house at the east
entrance into the City on West Platte Road and which is
in Kansas City, which was in bad condition and people were
partially tearing it down. It was decided that Pride and

Progress should write the City of Kansas City, inquiring
if they could have something done about the house.
City Cterk Betty Burch said she had an inquiry of Warren
Brenner if he could have an auction at the Silver Fox -
one day only - to auction off the contents of the building.
It app eared to be in order for Mr. Brenner to have this
auction.
The Special Road District sent their bill on the work
done on Northwood Road and VanDipopulier Road and that we
now have a balance of $3,098.14.
The City's Pension Plan for its employees was again
discussed and Attorney Don Witt is to set the plan up on
paper, setting out what it covers. It still is not complete
and it is open for comments and suggestions.
It was felt before the City could give an answer to
Mr. King on the purchasing of the Water Departments they would have to
do more research on the matter.
There being no further business, upon motion made,
seconded and passed, meeting adjourned at 9:26 p.m.
