HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-04-06MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI April 6, 1982 A regular meeting of the board of aldermen of the City of River- side, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside on April 6, 1982, at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call, aldermen West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler and Holmes were present, Campbell absent. The Minutes of March 16, 1982, were read and approved as corrected. Don Northland 8327 North Pontiac, K. C., Mo. presented application for Mobil Home SErvice at 4403 N.W. Gateway. This is a complete mobil home service in the old service station building at the said address. There would be no repair on the premises or in the present business building; this was approved subject to the payment of the fee. Robert Claxton, 6700 N. Campbell, Gladstone, MO, presented business license applicatin for Design Paint Shop & Body Works, at 4303 N.W. Gateway. This would be to do repair to auto bodies and mechanical work. The Planning Commission recommended approval with the stipula- tions that all inoperable vehicles would be parked behind the building and that a screening fence be placed between their business and the Cosmos, with the dead line for the fence being June 1, 1982. This was approved subject to the payment of the fee and carrying out the stipulations as stated above. John F. Love, Engineer for Getty Oil Company presented application for business building, north of River-Park Street at the West City Limits. This would be a steel building with baked enamel. The matter was discussed and it was felt that Getty Oil should have a more decora- tive front on the building. Scudder moved that the special use permit for the Getty Oil Company be approved, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, and Holmes voted aye; Campbell absent. West moved that the building application plans be approved as shown, subject to Larkin & Associates approval with the stipulation that Getty Oil have some acceptable decorative masonary plan forthe front of the building within 30 days, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, and Holmes voted aye; Campbell absent. American Cable Vision advised that they would be through with their work on the cable in Riverside by the end of May, 1982. A letter from the Health Department dated March 24, 1982, was read, this concerned the construction of the. 8" sewer line by Danny Construction Company for Green's Trailer Court. West moved that Bill No. D-82-12 being bill authorizing the City Attorney to institute suit against Dr. Frank Jones and Robin Schuler for unpaid sewer charges by Robin Schuler for the laundry business, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg,_ Peeler, and Holmes voted aye; Campbell absent. Meeting April 6, 1982 - Page 2 Rodeberg moved that Bill No. D-82-12 be placed on its second read- ing, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, and Holmes voted aye; Campbell absent. West moved that Bill No. D-82-12 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become ordinance No. D-82-12, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, and Holmes voted aye; Campbell absent; said bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part hereof, approved by Mayor Brenner and became Ordinance No. D-82-12. The Public Safety Committee announced they had received a resigna- tion from Judy Abner as an employee of the Riverside Public Safety Department as of April 5, 1982. Scudder moved that the City accept the recommendation of the Public Safety Committee of accepting the resignation of Judy Abner as an em- ployee of the Riverside Public Safety Department as of April 5, 1982, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler and Holmes voted aye; Campbell absent. It was announced that ATA is going to service Riverside, Missouri beginning on May 3, and for 90 days thereafter. The stop will be at the Northcrest Apartments in Riverside and thence to Vivion Road via Northwest Gateway, a stop at Northmoor thence on to Venture and to ~- either Metro-North or K.C., and on return it will be reversed. The fee will be .70 one way. West moved that the City authorize Boy Scout Troop 113 to deliver the circulars announcing the ATA Bus and schedule for the sum or $50.00, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, and Holmes voted aye; Campbell absent. A recess was called. Meeting reconvened, the roll was called and West, Scudder, Rodeber, Peeler and Holmes present, Campbell absent; and Mayor Brenner presiding over remainder of meeting. Peeler moved that the City authorize the Street Committee to have the Special Road District to blade Northwood Road and also retain the Special Road District to sweep the streets with their equipment, second- ed by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler and Holmes voted aye; and Campbell absent. Mayor Brenner announced that there will be a regular meeting on April 13, 1982 at 7:30 p.m. There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and passed, meeting adjourned at 10:35 p.m.
