CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
February 16, 1982
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside,
Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside on February 16, 1982,
at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call, Aldermen Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler,
Holmes were present, West and Campbell absent, Mayor Brenner calling
said meeting to order.
The minutes of February 2, 1982, were read and approved as corrected.
A letter dated February 2, 1982, from John Brown was read. He
complimented the City, Pride and Progress and "Riverside's Story"
on all the great work they have been doing. He also enclosed a $500
check to be spent by Pride and Progress and on the "Riverside's Story".
American Cable Vision inquired whether their door-hanger notices
could be put in the publication of "Riverside's Story". After a dis-
cussion, it was decided that American Cable Vision should find other
means of having their notices delivered.
A letter dated February 5, 1982, from the U.S.P.0. was received.
This was in reply to Scudder's letter of January 15, 1982, inquiring
on the possibility of the City securing its own zip code. The letter
advised they were looking into the matter.
Sue Dance sent data pertaining to S B 460 (Block Grants). This
matter was discussed.
It was brought out that Northtown Laundry was behind in their sewage
payment. City Attorney Don Witt is to write both Dr. Jones and North-
town Laundry concerning this matter.
The Public Safety Department recommended the acceptance of Corporal
D. E. Phillips' resignation as of February 14, 1982.
Scudder moved that we accept the recommendation of the Public Safety
Department and accept the resignation of Corporal D. E. Phillips as
of February 14, 1982, seconded by Peeler, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler and Holmes voted
aye; West and Campbell absent.
The Public Safety Department recommended the employment of Dennis
L. Mayberry and Wiley A. Simpson as full time Public Safety Officers.
Scudder moved that Bill No. D-82-8 being bill accepting the recom-
mendation of the Public Safety Department and employ Dennis L. Mayberry
and Wiley A. Simpson as full time Public Safety Officers be placed
on its first reading, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler and Holmes voted
aye; West and Campbell absent. Said bill was accordingly read.
Rodeberg moved that Bill No. D-82-8 be placed on its second reading,
-- seconded by Peeler, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, and Homes voted aye; West and Campbell
absent; said bill was accordingly read.

Holmes moved that Bill No. D-82-8 be placed on its third reading
and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. D-82-8, seconded by
Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Scudder, Rode-
berg, Peeler, and Holmes voted aye; West and Campbell absent; said
Bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part hereof,
approved by Mayor Brenner and became Ordinance No. D-82-8.
Scudder moved that Bill No. D-82-9 being bill providing for the
appropriation of money out of the general funds of the City of River-
side, Missouri be paid for certain indebedness as listed therein be
placed on its first reading, seconded by Peeler. The roll was called
and votes were as follows: Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, Holmes voted aye
West and Campbell absent; said bill was accordingly read.
Holmes moved that Bill No. D-82-9 be placed on its second reading,
seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler and Holmes voted aye; West and Campbell
absent, said bill was accordingly read.
Scudder moved that Bill No. D-82-9 be placed on its third reading
and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. D-82-9, seconded by
Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Scudder,
Rodeberg, Peeler and Holmes voted aye; West and Campbell absent; said
bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part hereof,
approved by Mayor Brenner and became Ordinance No. D-82-9.
A recess was called. Meeting reconvened. The roll was called
and Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler and Holmes were present, West and Cam-
pbell absent, Mayor Brenner preciding over remainder of meeting.
A letter from Mr. Jensen, Wesley Pierson's attorney, was read,
wherein he requested to be on the March 16, 1982 agenda.
There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and
passed, meeting adjourned at 11:35 p.m.
