HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-10-13MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI October 13, 1981 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the city Hall in Riverside, MO on October 13, 1981, at 7:30 P.M. On a roll call, aldermen West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, Holmes and Campbell were present, Mayor Brenner calling said meeting to order. Minutes of October 6, 1981, were read and approved as corrected. Mr. Kenny Norling's application for remodeling at 3205 Cerrito Lane, was discussed and it was decided to discuss it further at the next meeting. A discussion was had on the proposed addition to Beverly Lumber Company, and after more definite plans are had, this matter will be discussed further. A letter addressed to the Mayor, dated October 7, 1981, concerning revenue bonds from Senator Eagleton was read. Mayor Brenner informed the Board that he had met with Ivan Uben of Larken and Associates on the Wesley Pierson Street and he is of the opinion that Mr. Pierson is willing to make a 28' street. The City would be much better off if he would make a 22' pavement and build a curb which would make the area a total of 26' wide, with 2' on each ~ide~~ The Flood Managemen Agency wants the City to obtain a letter from Cuda's engineer that the are which was leveled off does not exceed 2" fill, or the City of Riverside advise that they have tested the area and it does not ex- ceed 2" fill. A recess was called. Meeting reconvened, the roll was called and l~Jest, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, Holmes and Campbell were present, Mayor Brenner presiding over remainder of meeting. Scudder moved that Bill PJo. D-81-33 being bill providing for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on its first reading, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, Holmes and Campbell voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. Rodeberg moved that Bill D-81-33 be placed on its second reading, seconded by iJest, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, Holmes and CAmpbell voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. West moved that Bill D-81-33 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. D-81-33, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, Holmes and Campbell voted aye, said bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part hereof, approved by Mayor Brenner and became Ordinance No. D-81-33. City Clerk Betty Burch informed the City that they have been advised by Platte County Health Department that the Florence Sewer on 50th Street has been repaired. Reg. Meeting October 13,-1981 Page 2 Just as a reminder it was brought up that when the billing for the license on the auto repair and body shops that there are a few that will have to come before the board. A motion was made by West and seconded by Scudder that Judy Abner be given her 12 % increase for 4 years of continuous service and that Mike Shelton be given his 1~ increase for 3 years of continuous service, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, Holmes and Campbell voted aye. Scudder moved that Bill No. D-81-34 being bill regulating the keeping of coin-operated amusement devices and establishing a license fee to be paid by persons or firms or corporation s keeping or exhibiting coin-operated amusement devices for customers' use within the corporate limits of the City of Riverside, Missouri and fixing the time when such fee shall commence be placed on its first reading, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, Holmes and Campbell voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. West moved that Bill No. D-81-34 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, Holmes and Campbell voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. Rodeberg moved that Bill No. D-81-34 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance No, D-81-34, seconded by West, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, Holmes and Campbell voted aye; said bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part hereof, approved by Mayor Brenner and became Ordinance No. D-81-34. Peeler moved that Bill No. D-81-35 being bill amending the City~s Occupation License Ordinance by adding thereto a section taxing Coin-Operated Amusement devices or Coin-Operated Amusement Arcades be placed on its first reading, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes. were as follows: WEst, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, Holmes and Campbell voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. Campbell moved that Bill No. D-81-35 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, Holmes and CAmpbell voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. Rodeberg, moved that Bill No. D-81-35 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. D-81-35, seconded by West, the roll was called and votes were as follows: WEst, Rodeberg, Scudder, Peeler, Holmes and Campbell voted aye; said bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part hereof approved by Mayor Brenner and became Ordinance No. D-81-35, A review of the street lights will be made by the Street Committee and will report at the next meeting. There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and passed, meeting adjourned at 12:15 A.M., October 14, 1981. °_"`_~[-
