HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-09-15MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI SEPTEMBER 15, 1981 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of River- side, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside on September 15, 1981, at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call, aldermen West, Rodeberg, Holmes and Campbell were present, Scudder and Peeler absent. Said meeting was called to order by Mayor Brenner. Minutes of September 1, 1981 were read and approved as corrected. David Kitchell, 5003 N.W. Marrimac, presented application for remodeling his house and tearing down and rebuilding an out building, to be covered on the outside with the same material as his house. These applications were recommended for approval by the Planning Commission. The Board approved the plans subject to the payment of the fee. Curtis Sullivan, Skyline Inn, Northwest Gateway, presented ap- plication for business license for buying and selling jewelry, antique figurines at 2707 NW Vivian Road. Said application was approved subject._tQ the pavmenr_ of the fee.. Humphries, 8104 Blue Grass Drive, Parkville, Missouri presented application for business license for Auto Sales License at 4212 West Riverside, #~s~e~x~ Street. They also presented application for a 4'x8' sign to be placed on the building. These applications were recommended for approval by the Planning Commission. The Board discussed the matter and Messrs. O'Dell and Humphries agreed they would not park unoperable-junk cars in the front of the building for a~ more than one day. The applica- tions were approved subject to the payment of the fee. Bill Woodside, 3950 VanDePopulier Road, spoke to the Mayor and Board concerning a pole barn at the said location since this is in the flood plains area. After a discussion it was decided that Bill Woodside should call Gary McClure of HUD and see if they have an answer as to whether or not a buildiing of this type could be built without having to fill. After HUD's answer is obtained, Bill Woodside is to report to the Planning Commission. A statement for our proportion of J. D. Finnigan's services representing us in the matter of Missouri Cities application before the Missouri Public Service Commission for an increase in water rates. It appears our proportion is $235.28, and it was agreed to add this to our disbursement ordinance. The matter of Northwood Road was discussed and that bids should be gotten to gravel the Road. West is to prepare the specifications on which to secure bids for gravel on Northwood Road and they are to be sent out. A discussion was had with regard to Mattox Road. It was suggested that approximate~~y~ ~~,000 be spent on Mattox Road thi„s year and then a smaller amount be spent each year hereafter. It was also brought out that the people on the road should be contacted concerning the road, and no definite plans were made. Reg. Meeting Pge 2 - Sept. 15, 1981 A recess was called. Meeting reconvened. The roll was called and West, Rodeberg, Holmes and Campbell were present, Scudder and Peeler absent, and Mayor Brenner preciding over remainder of meeting. Holmes moved that Bill No. D81-3~ being bill providing for the appropriation of money out of the .general fund of the City of River- side, Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on its first reading, seconded by West, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Rodeberg, Holmes and Campbell voted aye; Scudder and Peeler absent; said bill was accord- ingly read. West moved that Bill No. 81-3~ be placed on its second reading, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Rodeberg, Holmes and Campbell voted aye; Scudder and Peeler absent; said bill was accordingly read. Rodeberg moved that Bill No. D-81-3, be placed on its third read- ing and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. D-81-3~, seconded by Holmes, the roll was called and votes were as follows: West, Rode- berg, Holmes and Campbell voted aye; Scudder and Peeler absent; said bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a art hereof, approved by Mayor Brenner and became Ordinance No. D-81-3~ There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and passed, meeting adjourned at 12:06 a.m. Sepember 16, 1981.
