HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-06-09MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI -~ JUNE 9 , 1981 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of River- side, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, on June 9, 1981, at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call, aldermen Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler and CAmpbell were present, West and Holmes absent; Mayor Brenner call- ing said meeting to order. It is announced to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the meeting of June 2, 1981. Ed and Kathie Rule's application for business license and license for liquor by package was again discussed and Ed Rule inquired when he could expect an answer on the package liquor license. The Mayor and Board advised that there are no package liquor license available at this time. E. H. Young's application for selling fireworks was presented, for selling same at 2401 West Platte Road. Said application waas ap- proved subject to the payment of the fee. Scudder said that had gotten with Larkin & Associates and they will send a proposal to MARC for help financing Northwood Road. Rodeberg announced that there were 2000 news letters to be mailed and inquired as to the solution of mailing and paying for same. These are Riverside News Letters for City residents only. Scudder moved that the City pay expense of printing the news letter and mailing same, the cost probably would be slightly over $217.00 and the Apartment Buildings' letters would be hand delivered, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler and Campbell voted aye; West and Holmes absent. With regard to 911, Mr. Witt is to try to get with the Telephone Company to get a more definite answer that Riverside will not have to dispatch for any other city. Mr. Witt announced that service by publication has been made on Helen Brenner concerning the condemnation of her house on Vivian road and she has until July 15, 1981 to file an answer. Scudder moved that Bill No. D-81-19, being bill amending sec- tion 16.7 of the Code of Riverside relative to sewer charge be placed on its first reading, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler and Campbell voted aye; West and Holmes absent, said Bill was accordingly read. Rodeberg moved that Bill No. D-81-19 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler and Campbell voted aye; West and Holmes absent; said bill was accordingly read. Minutes of Meeting Scudder moved that Bill No. D-81-19 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. D-81-19, seconded by Peeler, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Scudder, Rode- berg, Peeler, and Campbell voted aye; West and Holmes absent; said bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part hereof, approved by Mayor Brenner and became Ordinance No. D-81-19. A recess was called, meeting reconvened. The roll was called and Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler and Campbell were present, West and Holmes a~se~t. Mayor Brenner preciding,,over remainder of meeting, It was announced that Linville Construction received the bid of $7,200 on Northwood Road. Larkin & Associates is to verify the Flood Plain Area Elevation concerning the John Brown (ELKA Enterprises) building which application he had presented for approval some time ago and will re-present the the application. Rodeberg moved that Bill No. D-81-20 being bill providing for the appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City of River- side, Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on its first reading, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler, and Campbell voted aye; West and Holmes _:absentl_said_~bill was accordingly read. Scudder moved that Bill No. D-81-20 be placed on its second reading seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Scudder, Rodeberg, Peeler and Campbell voted aye; West and Holmes absent; said bill was accordingly read. Rodeberg moved that Bill No. D-81-20 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. D-81-20, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Scudder, Rode- berg, Peeler and Campbell voted aye; West and Holmes absent; said bill was accordingly read attached hereto and made a part hereof approved by Mayor Brenner and became Ordinance No. D-81-20. There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and passed, meeting adjourned at 9:52 p.m. ~„~~..,et__
