THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF
CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
OCTOBER 7, 1980
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside,
Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri, on October 7,
1980. On a roll call Aldermen West, Scudder, Peeler, and Holmes were
present, Rodeberg and Campbell absent, Mayor Brenner calling said meeting
to order.
Minutes of meeting of September 16, 1980, were read and approved.
Minutes of September 23, 1980, were read and approved as corrected.
Minutes of September 30, 1980, were read and approved as corrected.
Jim Venus, 7723 NE 55th Street, K.C., MO., presented application
for sign at Venus Automotive, 4141 Riverside Drive. This application
was recommended for approval by the Planning Commission. Said Applica-
tion was approved.
Dan Czamanske presented application for residential building at
4804 NW Hillside. He wanted the Board to look over the plans and approve
same before he took them to the Planning Commission. He said if this
could be done, it would save him time as he wanted to start the excavat-
ing as soon as possible.
West moved that after approval of the plans presented by Dan Czaman-
ske (for a house) by the Planning Commission this Thursday night (October
9, 1980), the Planning Commission chairman can cantact the Board members
and obtain signature approval, avoiding having to wait two weeks for
the next council meeting, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: West, Scudder, Peeler and Holmes voted aye;
Rodebereg and Campbell absent.
Glenn Hohimer inquired with regard to having the sand and salt broken
up, and it was decided to wait a little while and then have it done.
Also it was decided not to have all the sand and salt mixed at this
time. "NO PARKING" signs are to be placed on the street right of way
(Vivian Street) where the salt and sand are stored.
Glenn Hohimer also reported that he had the brakes on the truck
repaired and they are now in good condition.
Peeler reported that Northwood Road has now been surveyed, so plan-
ning for the remainder of the work on Northwood Road can be studied.
Bids for doing the remainder of work on Northwood Road in order to put
the road in travelable condition would be gotten.
West reported that at the last Mayor's meeting Art King reported
that after searching further into the county sales tax matter which
is being put on the ballot this election, he thought the county needed
the money since inflation has taken a larger portion out of their income
than anticipated.
A recess was called. Meeting reconvened. The roll was called;
West, Scudder, Peeler and Holmes present, Rodeberg and Campbell absent,
Mayor Brenner presiding over remainder of the meeting.

The success of the Fall Festival was discussed. A letter is to
be written to Jean and Dick Grogan and the people in the Public Safety
Department for all the good work done.
Betty Burch advised that a report on the signs should be ready at
the next meeting.
Peeler advised that the bid for work on the streets was awarded
to Mid Continent Asphalt and Paving, according to their bid. (This
is for the overlay portion of the work).
There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and
passed, meeting adjourned at 10:10 p.m.
