OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN
CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
March 4, 1980
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri
on March 4, 1980, at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call, aldermen Holmes, Peeler,
Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West were present.
Minutes of February 19, 1980, were read and approved.
Winston Peeler presented business license application on
behalf of Engalls Flowers & Givts at 4615 N.W. Gateway, said application
was approved subject to the payment of the fee.
Jane Jenkinson, presented sign application for Jenkinson
Auction Service at 4437 N.W. Gateway (this is to repaint sign presently
at the location). Said application was approved subject to the payment
of the fee.
Mr. Darel Huel, presented application for sign to be placed
on the side of Cliff View And Vivian Road advertising the Cliff Manor

presented application for building and special use permit for said com-
pany. These matters were discussed.
Scudder moved that the letter dated February 25, 1979,
from Mr. Fullerton, Architect and letter dated May 10, 1979, from Mr.
James T. Britt, Attorney, pertaining to Daniels-McCray Lumber Company
meeting the flood insurance requirements, be attached hereto and made
a part of these minutes, and that a Special Use permit be issued for
the Daniels-McCray Lumber Company in this flood hazardous area, seconded
by Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Pe-
eler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye.
West moved that the Building Application of Daniels-McCray
Lumber Company be approved subject to the installation of a Fire Hydrant
at a suitable area agreed upon by Chief Wingo and the Underwriters
seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye.
It was brought out by Robert Gieseke that the Quindario
Bend Levee District has approved the final drainage plans of Daniels-
McCray Lumber Company.
Mr. Marvin Shepherd and his attorney Bill Norton were
present with regard to his obtaining liquor license for the opera-
'"`' tion at 2711 West Vivian Road. He does not want to proceed with
_ the lease agreement until he is assured he will be able to obtain
the liquor license.
He is to secure the survey of the property and furnish
it for the City. The Board will then look into the matter further.

Mr. Almon R. Folsom, 6217 N.W. Roandridge, Kansas City, MO, presented
application for license to operate Gateway Auto Service at 4303 N.W.
Gateway. The application was approved subject to the payment of the
fee and he agreed to keep the older vehicles and ones in poor condition
toward the back of the area. He was addvised that these license are
issued every six months. ,
Scudder moved that Bill No. 80-5 being bill authorizing the
West Port Bank to extend the date of the Certificate of Deposit from
March 18, 1980 to April 18, 1980 at the rate of 14% A.P.R. which was
originally in the amount of $350,000, seconded by Brenner, the roll was
called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner,
Scudder and West voted aye, said bill was accordingly read.
Rodeberg moved that Bill No. 80-5 be placed on its second
reading, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as fol-
lows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, and West voted aye,
said bill was accordingly read.
West moved that Bill No. 80-5 be placed on its third reading
and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. 80-5, seconded by Scudder,
the roll was called and the votes were as folLaws:Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg,
Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye; said bill was accordingly read,
attacahed hereto and made a part hereof, approved by Mayor Young and
became Ordinance No. 80-5.
Peeler reported that Brenner, Wingo and he went with Ken
Vaughn of Larkin and Associates to look over the drainage problem at
Riverside Street. He is to return on March 5, to again look over the
problem.
West moved that the City authorize Peeler to order from the
appropriate party aerial photos of the Line Creek area from the Missouri
River to I-29, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were
as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West voted
aye.
There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded
and passed, meeting adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
