HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-11-20MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI November 20, 1979 A regular meeting of the board of aldermen was held in the City Hall in the City of Riverside, Missouri on November 20, 1979, at 7:30 p.m. The roll was called and Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner Scudder and West were present. Mayor Young calling said meeting to order. It was suggested and agreed to dispense with the reading of the minutes of November 6, 1979. Keith Meyers, 1819 NW 50th Street, Northmoore, Missouri, presented application for Meyers Auto Sales at 3001 NW Vivian Road (old Phillips 66 Station). According to the zoning ordinance it appeared this location was not zoned for this type of business. Greg Wilkie, 3400 N.W. Gateway presented drawing of his businesses and parking area surrounding such buildings. He agreed to make copy of this drawing for the City. Don Hill, 7602 N.W. 69th Terrace, K.C., MO., presented application for Mr. Don's Hair Design at 4613 N.W. Gateway (Gateway Center), said application was approved subject to the payment of the fee. Mr. Latta and Paul Bertram were present to talk about the sports complex Mr. Latta proposes to build. Mr. Bertram is an engineer with a consulting engineering firm and said he has studied the traffic situation in the area on Mattox where the sports complex is proposed to be built. The Mattox road is to be looked into and a study would be made of this. This matter was discussed further. A recess was called. Meeting reconvened. The roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder were present, West absent this portion of meeting. May- or Young preciding over remainder of meeting. Betty Burch, City Clerk is to get some information with regard to the assessment of 35¢ for Special Road Distsrict and also inquire about the time and place of the Special Road District elections. Rodeberg moved that Bill No. 79-28, being bill providing for the appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City of Riverside, Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on its first reading, seconded by Bren- ner the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, and Scudder voted aye; West absent, said bill was accordingly read. Brenner moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 79- 28 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Brenner, Rodeberg, and Scudder voted aye; West absent; said bill was accord- ingly read. Scudder moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 79- 28 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 79-28, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, and Scudder votes aye; West absent; said bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part hereof, Approved by Mayor Young and became Ord. No. 79-28. Officer Wingo recommended that Judy Park be issued a Police Commission, which would enable her to search the female prisoners and this would take care of the situation where there is only one person to do this and she would not have to be called down to the City Hall when Judy Parks is present. Rodeberg moved that the City accept Officer Wingo's recom- mendation of giving Judy Parks a Police Commission, as of the 20th of November, 1979, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, and Scud- - der voted aye; West absent. Scudder moved that the salary of Judy Parks be $850.00 per month beginning December 1, 1979, seconded by Brenner, this being Bill No. 79-29 and placed on its first reading, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, and Scudder voted aye; West absent, said bill was accordingly read. Rodeberg moved that Bill No. 79-29 be placed on its second reading, seconded By ;Bxrenn$r, the roll was called and vo tes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, and Scudder voted aye; West absent; said bill was acco~'dingly read. Scudder moved that Bill No. 79-29 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 79-29, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, and Scudder voted aye; West absent; said bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part hereof, approved by Mayor Young and became Ord. No. 79-29.
