REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN
CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
September 18, 1979
A regular meeting of the board of aldermen of the City of
Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City Hall in Riverside, on September
18, 1979, at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call, aldermen Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg,
Brenner, Scudder and West were present.
The Mayor recommended that the reading of the minutes be
dispensed, and same was accepted.
Steve Beyer, 8037 Jefferson, Kansas City, Missouri 64114
presented two applications for business as follows:
Seventh Heaven Records (F & F Investments) d/b/a Red X Plaza Records,
2401 West Platte Road, and Bing & Bobs Investments Inc. d/b/a Red
X Furniture, 2401 West Platte Road, said applications were approved
subject to the payment of the fee; Mr. Beyer is also to bring his
Tax number to the Cler.
Al Hylton, Attorney representing Robert Wood 4810 NW
Highdrive wherein he•,ha~~ereiv d a npt of his being in violation
of ordinance. ,, a '~°°-~^""~ that he was parking several
trucks at his residence and could possibly be operating his business
out of his home. After a discussion of this matter, he said he
has a place to keep the two larger trucks~a

Jim Wilkie was present at the request of the Board.
The Board inquired with regard to the party dumping in the creek
behind his place of business, also the parking of the vehicles
in the area,and the general clean-up of some of the area and under-
stood that they have discontinued the selling of gasoline.
He said that there would be no more dumping in the creek. Kenny
McGaugh d/b/a Contract Filters (cleans industrial filters) is operat-
ing without license and also Heath Meyers d/b/a Midway Auto Sales,
is operating without a license. Wingo is to deliver a letter to
these people telling them they are operating without a license.
Jim Wilkie is to have a plot plan prepared for the next meeting
and be present with the plan.
Dale Latham, 9837 Overbrook Ct., Leawood, Kansas 66206
said he still was interested in building a Soft Ball Complex in
Riverside, he said he contacted the Railroad and they would not
help in any way, he contacted the highway department and they said
they could not build an on--off ramp at this time. The Mayor and
Board are to look at some complexes similar to these at St. Louis
and Springfield. Also another matter that would need to have furth-
er studying would be the working out of the road to the complex
and also liquor license, since at the present time there are no
liquor license available.

Mr. & Mrs. Dempsey were present wrro~ng- a letter
of approval from the City for their Taxie Service within the City.

West moved that Bill No. 79-18 being a bill terminating
the employment of Patrick L. Honn be placed on its first reading,
seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye;
said bill was accordingly read.
West moved that Bill No.79-18 be placed on its second
reading, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were
as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, and West
voted aye; said bill was accordingly read.
Brenner moved that bill No. 79-18 be placed on its
third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. 79-
- 18, seconded by West, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye;
said bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part
hereof approved by Mayor Young and became Ordinance No. 79-18.
West moved that Bill No. 79-19, being bill terminating
the employment of Steven L. Eskew, be placed on its first reading,
seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye;
said bill was accordingly read.
Scudder moved that Bill No. 79-19, be placed on its
second reading, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes
were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and
West voted aye; said bill was accordingly read.
Brenner moved that Bill No. 79-19, be placed on its
third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 79-19, second-
ed by West, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes,
Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye; said bill
was accordingly read attached hereto and made a part hereof, approv-
ed by Mayor Young and became Ord. No. 79-19.

Brenner moved that Bill No. 79-16 be placed on its third reading
and become Ord. No. 79-16, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudd-
er and West voted aye, said bill was accordingly read, attached
hereto and made a part hereof approved by Mayor Young and became
Ord. No. 79-16.
West moved that Bill No. 79-17, being bill ratifying
the acceptance of bids on time deposit and creating an additionan
city depositor be placed on its first reading, seconded by Scudder,
the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler,
Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye; said bill was accord-
ing read.
Scudder moved that bill No. 79-17 be placed on its
second reading seconded by Brenner, the rollw as called and votes
were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and
West voted aye; said bill was accordingly read.
Rodeberg moved that Bill No. 79-17 be placed on its
third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 79-17, second-
ed by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows:

Everyone expressed their thanks to Mrs. Rodeberg for
another successful Fall Festival.
Only one bid was received for the Door Openers on the
overhead doors and that was from Overhead door Company in the sum
or $9,534.00.
Brenner moved that we accept the bid of $9,534.00 being
the cost of the total job, including completely installing and
over allwiring of the door openers seconded by Rodeberg, the
roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg,
Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye.
West moved that Bill No. 79-20 being bill prodiving
for the appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City
of Riverside, Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness
as listed therein be placed on its first reading, seconded by Rodeb-
erg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler,
Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and WEst voted aye; said bill was accord-
ingly read.
_ Brenner moved that Bill No.79-20 be placed on its second
reading, seconded by West, the roll was called and votes were as
follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, and KWest
voted aye; said bill was accordingly read.
Brenner moved that Bill No. 79-20, be placed on its
third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 79-20, second-

ed by West, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes,
Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye; said bill
was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part hereof, approv-
ed by Mayor Young and became Ord. No. 79-20.
West moved that the appointment of William Heuer as
public safety officer as of September 24, 1979, as made by the
Mayor and recommended by Wingo be approved, seconded by Scudder,
the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler,
Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye;.

West moved that the city purchase the Toshiba 707 for the total
sum of $3495.00 seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes
were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West
voted aye.
There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and
passed, meeting adjourned at 12:10 a.m. September 19, 1979.
