HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-07-17REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI -- JULY 17, 1979 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Mo. was held in the City Hall in Riverside, M0. on July 17, 1979, at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call, aldermen Holmes, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, and West were present, Mayor Young calling said meeting to order. The minutes of July 3, 1979, were read and approved. The minutes of July 10, 1979, were read and approved as corrected. Peeler present this portion of meeting. Ed Nall, 5830 N. Lakeview, Kansas City, Missouri 64118, presented applicati for Riverview Auto Service at 4303 N.W. Gateway. Said application was approved subject to the payment of the fee. Joe13e E. Flowers 49 N.E. Russel Road, Kansas City, No. , 64317, presented application for beauty shop at 2709 N.W. Vivian Road, said application was approved subject to the payment of the fee. She advised the name would be the same as the previous owner r and should she change the name she will apply to the Planning Comission first. Jerry L. Green, 8705 N.W. Old Stagecoach Road, presented application for remodeling ahouse at 919 Valley Lane, -- this would be an addition of a 10' x 14' room. Everything appeared to be in order and the plans were approved. Tom Patel advised he w,~ the ruew owner of Sky-Line Motel. He inquired whether or not he could get permit to serve liquor by the drink for his hotel guest only. The Board advised that there were no liquor permits available, at the present time and he was advised that it would be in order for him to write a letter stating his request for the liquor permit. James D. Venus, 4125 Riverside Drive presented application for a 4'x8' sign at his place of business at the above address. This application was approved subject to the pa~' ment of the fee. ~tv~^t l~ Mr. Tom Stahl was present to inform the Mayor and Board of the status o f L1ie~:.Lo~r flying planes and what procedure should be followed. This matter was discussed further. A recess was called. Meeting reconvened. Roll was called, Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West were present,Mayor Young presiding over remainder of meeting. A letter is to be written to the telephone company advising that all the City's phones are emergency numbers. Brenner moved that Bill No. 79-14 being bill providing for the ap- propriation of money out of the general fund of the City for the payment of certain indebtedness listed therein beplaced on its first reading, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. _ Scudder moved that Bill No. 79-14 be placed on its second reading, seconded by West, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, and West voted aye; said bill was accord- ingly read. Rodeberg, moved that Bill No. 79-14 be placed on its third reading Page 2 Reg Meet. July 17, 1979 and upon passage of sarr±e become Ordinance No. 79-14, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and the votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye; said bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part hereof approved by Mayor Young and be- came Ordinance No. 79-14. A copy of a letter written b y Senator E a g leton to the Corps of Engineers dated July 6, 1976, with regard to the City of Riverside securing the Wm S. Black was read. West moved that the City employ Henry Ellis as Field Supervisor at the salary of $1 5 monthly bedoming effective immediately as recommended by the Mayor and~~~~"5L Director of Public Safety, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye.
