A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hallin Riverside, Missouri on July l0,1g79 on a roll call, aldermen Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, and West were present, Mayor Young presiding over said meeting which was called to order at 7:30 p.m. It was agreed by the Board to dispense with the reading of the minutes of July 3, 1979. Bids were openedc for the road repair to be kdone and same were as follows: VaLLEY Cliffview Woodland Osa e Highdr Mid Continent $21,9- 4~ $12,14. No Bid No~ No Bid Seal-O-Matic $20, 280 °~ $11, 260. ~- " Booth Asphalt $22,800.00 $11,950. $3,850. $4,781.60 $360 Booth Asphalt Paving bid on Installing 2catch basins and 3 culverts, Osage and Woodland Drive - Catch basin and 64' of 15" steel culvert pipe .. $1,726.90 Osage driveway 24'12" steel culvert ......... ..................... 347.52 Osage One Catch basin and 165' 15" steel culvert pipe ............ 3,276.38 Brenner advised that Merrimac sewer line has been unstopped and thought the cost would be approximately $280. West moved that we acacept Section 1 and 2 bids on Valley and Clif~fyaew as present bySeal-O-Matic, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and the votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye. West moved that the remainder of the road kwork be done by Booth, seconded by KScudder the roll was called and the votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner and Scudder and West voted aye. West moved that the City employ a surveyor to survey the area on Osage Circle before any work be done on the street or drainage, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, and West voted aye. It was discussed that the Class A Public Safety employees' sdalaries be $13.860 annually, including the 7% and 3% increases for a 44 hour work week. It was further discussed that the new recruits be given a salary monthly of $1055 and be on a probation period of six months. West moved that new recruits in the Public Safety Department be employed at a slaray of $1055 monthly, the single rate insurance will be paid by the City for Hospital and Accident during the probation period of six months ; at the end of the six- month period , family coverage will b e added at no exepnse to the officer; in the event that the newrecruit wants kcoverage for his family during the probation period then in that even the employee maypay the difference at his oav,~ expense, seconded by Brenner, the roll weas called and the votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner Scudder and West voted aye. Brenner moved that as of July 1, 1979, that all full time City Employee receive a -~17% increase in wages, seconded by Rodeberg the roll was called Page 2, Regular Meeting July 10,1979 and the votes were as follows: Holmes, Rodebereg, Peeler, Brenner, Sccudderand West voted aye. Scudder moved that all full time regular public safety department employees, with the exception of the dispatchers are now based on a 44 hour work week pay, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and the votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West kvoted aye. A recess was called, meeting reconvened. The roll was called, and Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West were present, Mayor Young preciding over remainder of meeting. West was excused the reminder of the meeting. It was agreed by the Board that all Class A Reserves (qualified as Policemen and Firemen) are to be paid $20 per authorized shift. whin c111ed. All Class B Reserves (Policemen) will be paid $10 per authorized shift when called. All Class C Reserves (Firemen) will be paid $10 per authorized shift w~he~m call'ecf. Scudder moved that the full time Public SaFETY Department employees receive 2% of their earnings during the previous 12 months for those persons on the pay roll December 1, and payment to be effective December 1, seconde by Rodeberg, the roll was called and the votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder voted aye; West absent. Holmes moved that any cityemployee be compensated at their prorata straight time rate in addition to their regular compensation if they are scheuled or required kto work on the following Holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Da July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and the votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder voted aye; West absent. Scudder moved that office employees, Clerk, KBookkeeper, Municipal Court Clerk be paid 2% of his earnings during the previous 12 months if on the payroll as of December 1, to be effective December 1, 1979, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder voted aye; West absent. There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and passed, meeting adjourned at 10:42 p.m.
