HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-05-01' MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI MAY 1, 1979 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City Hall in Riv erside, Missouri on May 1, 1979, at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call, aldermen Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West were present, Mayor Young calling said meeting to order. The minutes of April 17, 1979, were read and approved. Gary J. Wilkie, 7100 Whispering Wood, Kansas City, MO 64152, presented application for business license at Bill's DX- 4400 N.W. Gateway, for the"operation of Service Station. He said the only other business to be at the place would be a body shop. The application was approved subject to the payment of the fee. Mr. Shepherd, 4911 N.W. Gateway, Riverside, MO was present to see what had been worked out with regard to transferring his liquor Dense from the Cellar to 2711 Vivian Road. This matter was discussed and it was decided that the Mayor and Board are iD meet with Mr. D. Little and Mr. Shepherd to discuss this mattter further and see if something can be worked out. David Kitchel inquired with regard to see what has been done on the problems on Merrimac Road. This matter was again discussed and ` a copy of letter from Attorney Don Witt and a specimen of a Home Owners Association was given to him. It was thought that the people could probably get this matter worked out among theirselves at a much lower cost than if the City would do this and they are to see if they can do this. It was decided to have the represented of Grinnel to be present at the next meeting to explain the agreement which was to be signed regarding some changes. Rodeberg inquired clean up. Rodeberg moved that the City employ Jerry Wingo and John Giese as reserve officers, seconded by Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmes, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye. Reg. Meeting May 1, 1979, Page 2. The Board was in agreement to have Don Witt write Warren Brenner a letter with regard to his unpaid sewer bill. Brenner moved that Bill No. 78-7 being bill providing for the canvassing of the returns of the General Election held in the City April 3, 1979, seconded by West, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmer, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye, said bill was accordingly read. Scudder, moved that Bill No. 78-7 be placed on its second re ading, seconded by Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Holmer, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, and West voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. West moved that Bill No. 78-7 be placed on and upon passage of same become Bill No. 78-7, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Brenner, Scudder and West voted aye; said bill attached hereto and made a part hereof, a appr~ and became Ord.
