CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
March 20, 1979
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City
of Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City Hall in Riverside,
Missouri, on March 20, 1979, at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call, aldermen
Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, West and Swetnam were present,
Mayor Young calling said meeting to order.
The minutes of March 6, 1979, were read and approved as
corrected.
Gene Heaivilin, 4401 F. Hon Drive, Riverside, Missouri
presented application for sign to be placed on his building at
3401 N.W. Vivian Road. Said application was approved subject to
the payment of the fee.
W..A: Bailey, 3406 Cerrito Lane, Riverside, MO, presented
application for a garage at same address. Said applicat~n was
approved subject to the payment of the fee.
James Sutton, 5017 North Merrimac, Riverside, MO was
the spokesman for a group of people on the same street with regard
to the dog problem, the sewer problem and also a general clean up
of the street. This matter was discussed at length. The Public
Safety Y]epartment is to investigate the dog situation. The Health
Department of the County and State are to be invited to a general
meeting of the public to be held at the City ;Hall on April 10, 1979
at 7:30 p.m. with regard to the sewage problem. (A letter was
read from Mr. Pettit to Gary ~Hohimer, dated February 22, 1979,
pertaining to the sewage problem). With regard to the firash and
noperable vehicles, this matter would be looked into.

a~,~4~ i-~ on the 2nd and7th of April, 1979, and thought it would be
well for a~~mam~ citizens as possible attend these days.
A recess was called. Meeting reconvened and roll was called,
Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, West and Swetnam were present;
Mayor Young preciding over remainder of meeting.
It was announced that there would be a meeting at Line
Creek Elementary School for the purpose of discussing the Waukomis
Dam matter.
Brenner is to review the streets and report at next
meeting.
West announced that Monday, Wednesday and Friday, telephone
bids were taken, to invest the City's money. On Monday, the high

bid on $100,00flewas National Bank of N.K.C., for six-~ the at 10-3/8%;
On Wednesday, Commerce Trust Company on $150,000 at L0.-25% for six-
months and on Friday, Metro North Bank on $100,000 for six months at
1d,6O'~ and the appropriate paper work has been done, to complete
the transactions. It was decided that these three amounts would be
made to come due on the same date at the end of the six months.
As matter of information the Mayor and member of the
Riverside Drainage District met with the Corp of Engineers and
were advised that the Quindario Levee Bend Di~rict and Line Creek
Levee would be considered and included in the River District for
construction of levee. There were four different proposals and
the starting of the construction wou ld be aout five dears from
now. The cost would be divided as follows: The District 20%;
the state 5% and the Federal Government 75%.
A letter is to be written to Dr. Eagle that the city
has purchased the Siren.
Brenner moved that Bill No. 79-6 being bill providing for
the appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City for
the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed
on its first reading, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, West
and Swetnam voted aye; said bill was accordingly read.
Scudder moved that Bill No. 79-6 be placed on its second
reading, seconded by Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as
follows: Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted
aye; said bill was accordingly read.
Rodeberg, moved that Bill No. 79-6 be placed on its third read-
ing and upon passage of same become Ord. No.79-6, seconded by Swetnam, the
roll was called and votes were as follows: Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner,
Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye; said billwas accordingly read,
attached hereto and made a part hereof, approved by Mayor Young and became
Ord. No. 79-6.
Mayor Young announced there would be a Mayor's meeting on
March 28, 1979, 8:00 p.m. at Houston Lake, 5516 North Venetian and council
members invited.

contract as of June 1, 1979, seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, West and
Swetnam voted aye;
Brenner moved meeting adjourn, seconded by Scudder, all voted
in favor, meeting adjouned at 11:30 p.m. ~ ~~
