HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-02-20~ MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF CITY OF , RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI February 20, 1979 ~ - A regular meeting of the board of aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on February 20, 1979, at Z:'30 p.m. On a roll call,~aldermen Peeler, Brenner, Rodeberg, Scudder and Swetnam were present, West absent, and Mayor Young calling said meeting to order. Minutes of Meeting of February 6, 1979, were read and approved as read. Dave R. Ryan, 7608 N. Olive, Kansas City, Mo. presented application ivr business (building furniture frames for Simmons) at 2901-1/2 N.W. Platte Road (in back of Carpenter Bros); said application was approved subject to the payment of the fee. Rodeberg was appointed to supervise the Census taking in Riverside, Missouri. A discussion was had with regard to Art King and Jeremiah D. Finnegan's bill; it was thought this matter should be handled differently in the future. _ A letter was read from Clay-Platte Association for Retarded Children, requesting permission to sell Honey door-to-door for one week within Riverside. The Board agreed to this. Swetnam is to check on the Baseball Diamond situation and make a study of it. A letter was read from the Platte County Court, dated February 15, 1979, advising they are in favor of the City of Riverside obtaining the "William M. Black" dredge. Winston Peeler, N.W. Florence Road, Riverside, Missouri, presented application and drawings for office building on N.W.Gateway, (4701). Scudder moved that the application be approved subject to the approval of the electrical construction by Kansas City Power & Light Company and the National Electrical Code, or approval by City Engineers, seconded by Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Peeler-abstained; Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder and Swetnam aye; West absent. Rodeberg moved that Bill No. D-79-3 being appropriation of money out of the general fund of Missouri, for the payment of certain indebtedness placed on its first reading, seconded by Brenner, votes were as follows: Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner aye; West absent; said bill was accordingly read. bill providing for the the City of Riverside, as listed therein be the roll was called and Scudder, Swetnam voted Scudder moved that Bill No. 79~ be placed m its second reading, z Reg. Meeting, Minutes of 2-20-79 Page 2 . seconded by Rodeberg, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, Swetnam voted aye; West absent; said bill was accordingly read. Swetnam moved that Bill No. 79-~ be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 79=~, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, Swetnam voted aye; West absent; said bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part hereof, approved by Mayor Young and became Ord. No. 79-x. Peeler and Brenner are to meet with Grinnel Corporation to see whether or not the sprinkler system pipes are concealed in the offices and exposed in the garage portion of the building and if so, then the drawings can be approved.
