HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-01-02MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF-THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI JANUARY '~, 1979 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri, on January 2, 1979, at 7:30 p.m. Upon a roll call, aldermen Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, West and Swetnam were present, Mayor Young calling said meeting to order. Minutes of meeting of December 19, 1978, were read and approved as corrected. Mayor Young reported on receiving a letter from Mr. Satterlee of Missouri State Highway Department, inquiring as to what the status is with regard to Van DePopulier Road under I-635. Mr. Young said that all the correspondence and other information is being assembled in preparation of a me#ing with the Highway Department. Brenner reported on the shooting and chipping of Valley Lane, including 150 feet of Cherokee, and it was brought out that the south end of Valley Lane, the street would have to be leveled or make corrections necessary. Young reported on the Boat and said that the City of Jefferson City is also interested in receiving it. Bids on two police cars were opened; the amount of same are as follows: Buddy Hughes Chev Co. John Chezik Buick - Bill Wood - LTD II Bill Stoffer " - Buick, LeSabre w/variations ~~ ~~ $13,148.62 13,44.58 13,318.78 12,820.00 These bids were discussed. West moved that the bid of John Chezik Buick be accepted, as same appears to be the most complete bid for our needs and the closest dealer, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye. A recess was called. Meeting reconvened, a roll was called, Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, West and Swetnam present; Mayor Young presiding over remainder of meeting. A discussion was had regardi ~le.in tallation of the sprinkler system, steming from the fact th~~ ~` ~bmpany, Inc. wants authority to start installation. Scudder moved tYet authority be given subject to with requirements of the ISO, sem nded by West, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, West and c ~~~2 ~~ ~- voted aye. The different apartment complexes were discussed with regard to their snow removal. 2'his would be investigated further.
