OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF
CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MO.
October 24, 1978
A special meetng was held in the City Hall in Riverside,
Missouri at 8:00 p.m. on October 24, 1978. Those present were
Peeler, Scudder, Brenner, West and Swetnam; Rodeberg absent and
Mayor Young cal~ng said meeting to order.
A motion was made, seconded and passed that we dispense
with the reading of the minutes of October 17, 1978.
The purpose of the meeting was to employ a Public
Safety Director, and an Assistant PublicSafety Director.
It was brought out that ads were put in many local
papers and other papers in other cities.
Max R. Maupin of Gladstone, Missouri, was interviewed,.
it was brought out that he was retiring from Gladstone and would
be available to work for Riverside immediately ~ !/,',''/~~
It was brought out that should a y o~ the public safety
~ employees get into trouble or do anything-, that the Mayor and
Board are to be kept advised and this was agreed to by Mr. Maupin.
Brenner moved that the City hire Max R. Maupin as soon
as he can come to work for the city as Director of Public Safety,
seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Peeler, Scudder, Brenner, West and Swetnam voted aye; Rodeberg Absent.
West moved that the City accept the recommendation of the
hiring of Christopher Fox as Assistant Director of Public Safety,
beginning as soon as available, seconded by Peeler, the roll was
called and votes were as follows: Peeler, Brenner, Scudder, West
and Swetnam voted aye; Rodeberg, Absent.
Brenner moved that the City Accept Gary Hohimer's resignation
with regrets effective November 15, 1978, or sooner, seconded by
Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Peeler, Brenner,
Scudder, West and Swetnam vote Rodeberg absent.

There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded
and passed, meeting adjourned.
