September 5, 1978
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside,
Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri, on September 5,
1978, at 7:30 p.m. Upon a roll call, aldermen Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner,
Scudder, West and Swetnam were present, Mayor Young calling said meeting
to order.
The minutes of August 15, 1978, were read and approved as corrected.
G. L. Bouldin, Box 6245, K. C., KS 66106, presented application
for Sinclair Marketing Inc. (service station). Said application was
approved subject to the payment of the fee.
Bill Corbett, 3405 N.W. Vivian Road, presented application for
Mid-Continent Mobile Wash,Inc. business. This is for wash and recondi-
tion of trucks in the new Ale~nader building. A notation was placed
on the application that all drainage associated with the business is
to be contained on owner's property. This was agreeable to Bill Corbett.
The application was ~ proved subject to the payment of the fee.
Howard Cheek, Jr. 7132 N.E. 52nd Street, K.C., Mo. presented applica-
tion for auto painting and body shop at 4303 N.W. Gateway. He agreed to
keep all wrecked vehicles parked in rear in the fenced area. This applica-
tion was approved subject to the payment of the fee.
Gary Faucett, 3209 Cerrito Lane, presented application for new house
on Cerrito Lane. The Board approved the application, subject to the payment
of the fee.
B & B Motors, 2627 W. Platte Road, presented applim tion for sign,
18" x 36", said application was approved subject to the payment of the
fee.
Cost figures were received from Missouri Cities Water Company on
the installation of an 8" line to the City Hall for the sprinkler system.
Along High Drive, from Vvion to City Hall, open cut $11,024;
Drill High Drive, 9,344, and open cut, from Vivion, $9,344; Cut Highdrive
infront of City Hall, $5,952. These all include a-..three-way hydrant.
Brenner moved that the City contract with the Missouri Cities Water
Company for the 8° line on the southerly side of High Drive from Vivion
Road for the sum of $9,344, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, West and
Swetnam voted aye.
Rodeberg reported that there is a new JC's Club with 21 members
in the dtyof Riverside, and that there is also a new Optimist Club here
in Riverside. Welcoming letters are to be written to them.

Gary Hohimer reported on the/Safety Department and a discussion
was had with regard to where to advertise for employees.

A recess was called. Meeting reconvened, the roll was called and
Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, West and Swetnam were present, Mayor
31'oung presiding over remainder of meeting.
The matter of purchasing a generator for the City Hall should there
be a failure in the electricity. This matter is to be taken up at the
next meeting. Also the matter of I~Iorthmoore Policing by Riverside is
to be looked into.
The Siren matter is to be looked into by Gary Hohimer.
Don Witt discussed the matter of the charge from the Municipal
League for the setting up of the accounting system for the City of
Riverside, with the Mayor and Board.
There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and
passed, meeting adjourned.- 10:35 pm.
