HomeMy WebLinkAbout1978-08-01MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSQURI August 1, 1978 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri, on August 1, 1978, at 7:30 p.m. Upon a roll call, aldermen Peeler, Rodeberg, Scudder, and Swetnam were present, Brenner and West absent. Minutes of July 18, 1978, were read and approved as corrected. Mayor Young announced that there would be a special meeting of the Board on August 9, 1978, at 7:30 p.m. for the purpose of opening bids for work to be done on the streets and any other business which may come before the Board. ,~,~ Fn ie s Barber Freiz, 901 Valley Lane, Riverside, MO 64150, presented application for Barb's Deli at 4710 N.W. Gateway -- There would be no cooking on the premises. The application was approved subject to Health Permit and paying the fee. Thomas Jeffers from Independence JC's spoke to the Board, saying he would like to start a JC group in Riverside. He was given the names of people he might contact to start the group. William Bailey spoke to the Board and said he would like to change his name of business from A & B Body Shop to A & B Salvage. Mr. Bailey is to return on Wednesday to see what can be worked out after the Board members review the ordinances. Kristine Lynch, 4721 Riverside Street, Riverside, Missouri Complained that the weeds were needing to be cut on the vacant lot near her and also would like something to be done about the speeders. These matters would be looked into. Jake Hannah, 5112 N. Merrimac, presented application for storage building 40' x 30'. This would require a special use permit. The. application was recommended for approval by the Planning Commission. Lar~4n & Associates sent letter to the City, listing corrections or matters to be taken care of before building. Mr. Hannah is to return Wednesday, Aug. 9 to the meeting. David Brenner present this portion of meeting. A bid for cleaning the City Hall was received in the amount of $125.00 per month, this would include cleaning once a week,the Kitchen, Court Room, and offices. (Helen Owens and Ann Walston presented the bid). Brenner moved that this bid be accepted for the cleaning of the City Hall once a week as set out in the bid for the sum of ,425.00 per month seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, and Swetnam voted aye; West absent.
