July 18, 1978 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, washeld in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on July 18, 1978, at 7:30 p.m. Upon a roll call, aldermen Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, West and Swetnam were present, Peeler absent, and Mayor Young calling said meeting to order. The minutes of July 11, 1978 were read and approved as corrected. A discussion was had with regard to the signing of the minutes, the correcting of same and this information is to be gotten by City Clerk Betty Burch. Karl Kimes, P.O. Box 7307, K.C., MO 64116, of I M Press Label & Sales, 1800 N.W. Vivion Road, Northmoore, MO. presented applics tion to do business at 4947 N.W. Gateway, A discussion was had with regard to this business in this particular zone. Mr. Kimes said there would be only three people working. The special us.e permit was explained to Mr. Kimes and he said he fully understood that this license could be revolked at any time. Brenner moved that a special use permit be issued to I M Press Label & Sales to January 1, 1979~1,~~~~nded by Wiest, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Peele Rodeberg, Brenner, West and Swetnam voted aye.;.Scudder-nay. Mr. Stewart Clare, 405 N.W. Woodland, Riverside, MO 64D51 presented applicat~rn for remodeling or addition to his house, ( 20' x 6'7" ). The planning commission recommended approval of same to the Board. The Board approved the application subject to the payment of the fee. Karen Martin, 5047 N.W. Gateway, presented application for license for Beauty Shop in her house at the same address. This a one person operated shop. The matter was discussed. Rodeberg moved that a special use permit be granted to Karen Martin for the beauty shop which will expire January 1, 1979, seconded by West, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Peeler, Absent, Rodeberg, Brenner and West voted aye; Scudder and Swetnam voted nay. Peeler present this portion of meeting. A recess was called. Meeting reconvened. The roll was called and Peeler; :Rodeberg;:.Brenner, Scudder, West and Swetnam were present, Mayor Young presiding over meeting. Brenner reported on the streets in the City, said report is attached hereto and made a part of these minutes. Minutes of Reg. Meeting Page 2, July 18, 1978 West moved that Bill No. 78-17 being bill providing for the appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City of Riverside, Mo. to the respective persons named there in for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on its first reading, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. Swetnam moved that Bill No. 78-17 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Peeler, Brenner, Rodeberg, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye, said bill was accordingly read. Scudder, moved that Bill No. 78-17 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 78-17, seconded by West, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Peeler, Rodeberg, Brenner, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted, said bill was accordingly read, attached hereto made a part hereof, approved by Mayor Young and became Ord. No. 78-17. Gary Hohimer reported on the price for the overhead door openers and one price was $1800 per opener, installed and guard. One unit w/3/4 horse power motor two push buttons $967.00;, radio controlled with time lock $192.00 each. More prices are to be obtained and the matter looked into further. Gary Hohimer reported that the fire hydrants should be 3-way. The two-way hydrant costs approximately $363, while the 3-why cost would be $400.00 each. Gary Hohimer reported that a letter was sent to the Cosmos, giving them until August 2, 1978, to install the Fire Exit. Gary Hohimer reported that should the City not have any fire works in the City, including storage, selling distributing, etc. this would give the city 50 points toward lowering the fire code. Gary Hohimer said he was looking into the project of getting the houses numbered and an over-all map covering this. West moved that the city allocate up to $2000 for the Fall Festival, seconded by Peeler, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Peeler, Brenner, Rodeberg, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye. There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and passed, meeting adjourned at p.m.
