January ~, 1978 _ A regular meeting of the Board of Alderm~ of the City of River- side, Missouri, was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri, on January 3, 1~~'~4 upon a ro 1 cal aldermen Rodeberg, Scudder, West and Swetnam present, Bes s~ for roll call; and o Young calling said meeting to order. ~ `~ - _ e minu~~ro~ ~Q~ a 20,1977, were read and approved. Edward S. Gately, Z NW Lilac Court, Kansas City, Mo. 64151, presented application for Sonny's Automobile Repair at W. Platte and Riverside Drive; This matter was discussed and Mr. Gately agreed to not park inoperable vehicles in front and all vehicles were to be parked on surfaced area -- the application was approved subject to the payment of the files. Ed Fries presented application for two new houses to be built on lots 4 and 5 in Indian Hills Third Addition, This matter was discussed. It was brought out by Betty Burch that the County Health inspector wanted to discuss with the City the sanitation situation on a couple of the lots in this addition and he did approve the sanitation disposal on lots 5 and 8 this this addition. the County Health Inspector was contacted by phone and he advised the City that he could not approve the sanitation disposal on L4~t 4, Indian Hills Third Addition at this time, and Lot 3 should be included with Lot 4 and it could not be approved. The Board approved the application for the buiHing on L6t 5, Third Addition in Indian Hills., presented by Ed Fries. Stuart Clare, Indian Hi71s presented application for two buildings to be built on his lot in Indian Hills, he was given applications to complete for temporary buildings. A letter from Southwestern Bell for permission to install an under- ground cable to Alexander's building on N.W. Vivial Road. The substance was not fully understood and more information was to be obtained frrom SW Bell, before an answer to them could be given. Scudder moved that Bill No. 78-1, being bill reducing all utilities taxes be placed on its first reading, seconded by West, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Rodeberg, Scudder, Best, West and Swetnam voted aye; Brenner absent, said bill was accordingly read. Swetnam moved that Bill No. 78-1 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Rodeberg, said roll was called and votes were as follows: Rodeberg, Best, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye; Brenner absent, said bill was accordingly read. West moved that Bill No. 78-1 be placed on its third reading and Minutes of Reg. Meeting Page 2, Jan. 2, 1978 _~~ and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 78-1, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Rodeberg, Best, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye; Brenner absent, said bill was accordingly read attached hereto and made a part hereof, approved by Mayor Young and became Ord. No. 78-1. The rd/d t~h~.~he se~ond~Tuesp. d fo _ lin fo off' e ~ at :0 m. be Mayor Young wants to set up a committee to see if there are certain materials that burn easily and are dangerous when burning so that it would put buildings around it in a dangerous position should a fire occur, also that certain buildings must have a sprinkler system - - these mostly concern commercial and business buildings. A recess was called. Meeting reconvened. 7.'he rollwas called and Rodeberg, Bed Scudder West and Swetnam were present, Brenner absent, May or Young presiding over remainder of meeting. A letter was received from the Public Safety Department requesting the reappointment of Edward B. Thurlo as a public safety officer, upon motion by Scudder and seconded by Rodeberg that the City reappoint Edward B. Thurlo as a pulbic safety officer, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Rodeberg, Best, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye; Brenner absent. Mayor Yount~.inquied of the Board if they had any objections to his building a wall to hide the trucks and also an addition to the building, there was a discussion and appeared to be no objections.
