HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-07-19Minutes of Regular Meeting Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, July 19, 1977 A regular meeting of the Board of Al~rmen of the City of Riversile, Missouri, was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri, on July 19, 1977, at 7:30 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen Rodeberg, Brenner, Best, Scudder, West and Swetnam were present, Mayor Young calling said meeting to order. Minutes of meeting of July 5, 1977, were read and approved as read. Charles M. Clark, R.R.#4, Box 415, Liberty, Missouri, 64068 presented application for auto upholstery shop at 4141 N.W. Riverside, Drive, -- in the discussion of the matter, Clark agreed to par$ the cars in an orderly manner; the application was approved subject to the payment of the license fee. Gayle Deitz, 10152 Mackey, Overland Park, Kansas 66212, presented appliesion for a body shop at 4319 N.W. Gateway, -- in the discussion of the matter, Deitz agreed to park the cars in an orderly manner and clean up the place -- said application was approved subject to the payment of the fee. Jerry Lorraine, 3020 Hall, Independence, Missouri presented two applications, one for Bon Jer Energy Corp. (insulation business) ~t 9, 210 feet south of Marian Road and 25 feet east of Karen, east side~of - Karen Street -- and an application for Alfred's Trailer Corirt, which he stated he purchased. The application for the insulation business was approved subject to this license applying only to the business applied for and the building be used for office only and on a temporary basis, and ttie"payment of the fee. The applicatinn for the trader court was approved with the understanding that it wa~`non-conforming zone and subject to the payment of the fee. The matter of the new portion of the City Hall building not being completed by Drexel Noble was discussed. It appeared that a letter was written him by Don Jack. The matter of the doors was discussed. It was agreed by the Board to write the Main Office of the Door Company, with a copy to the local office, Drexel Noble and Don Jack setting forth the City's complaint. This is to be done before the next meeting. A recess was called -- meeting reconvened -- the roll was called and. Rodeberg, Brenner, Best, Scudder, West and Swetnam were present. The matter of low flying airplanes was discussed. Don Witt is to research different phases of the matter and to advise the Mayor and Board. (safety andnoise basis), (ordinances). Reg. Minutes - - Page 2 - -' July 19, 1977 Brenner moved that Bill No. 77-12 being bill providing for the appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on its first reading, seconded by West, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Rodeberg, Brenner, Best, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. West moved that Bill No. 77-12 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Rodeberg, Brenner, Best, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. Scudder moved that rules be suspended and Bill Na.77-12 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 77-T2, seconded by West, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Rodeberg, Brenner, Best, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye; said bill was accord- ingly read attached hereto and made a part hereof, approved by Mayor Young and became Ord. No. 77-12. Rodeberg reported that the Insurance Committee had gotten several different prices on employees' insurance and there were two other companies that are to Send in their figures. Rodeberg moved that in the meantime that the City change its insurance to-the Missouri Municipal League's -- Blue Cross -- since this most less than we are now paying, seconded by Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Rodeberg, Brenner, Best, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye. Brenner reported on the construction of the new building -- said that would like to get more bids on the air conditioning and heating since only received two bids. Brenner reported that he has received and would like permission to get some more bid. West moved that the City accept the for the new offices, seconded by Rodeberg, votes were as follows: Rodeberg, Brenner, Swetnam voted aye; two bids on the sheet rock bids and to accept the lowest lowest bid on sheet rock the roll was called and West, Best, Scudder and Two bids were received for the new equipment in the Dispatcher's office; however it was decided to secure more bids. It was reported that there was a buyer for the drum of motd yyN'fhe'~~~ 0ll77~ for60.00 West moved that the City sell the drum of motor~6i12~ f~*thxe ~~itSr°o~ $60.00, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and Q/ ' votes were as follows: Rodeberg, Brenner, Best, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye. There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and passed, meeting adjourned.
