HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-10-05,~ MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF CITY OF RIVERSIDE Oct. 5, 1976 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of River- side, Missouri, was held fri the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri, on October 5, 1976, at 7:30 p.m. Upon a roll call, aldermen Rodeberg, Brenner, Best, Scudder, West and Swetnam were present, Mayor Young calling said meeting to order. The minutes of September 21, 1976, were read and approved as read and corrected. Helen Allen, 2200 N.E. 61st Street, K. C., Mo. 64118, presented application for Little Indian Jewelry Shop in Old'N You Antique Mart at 1812 West Platte Road. Application approved subject to the payment of the fee. Betty Arens, 1515 N.W. 64th Terrace, K. C „ Mo. 64118, presented application for selling Depression Glass and Oak Furniture at Old'N You: Antique Mart, 1812 West Pla tte Road, said application was approved subject to the payment of fee. Jerry Ward,, 9400 N.W~ ,-BAfry.,Roalyl, K.C., Mo. 64153, presented application for license to operate a place at 2506 W. Platte Road to recondition automobiles for dealers; said application was approved _ subject to the payment of the fee. W. A. Bailey presented plans and application for an extension to his building which would be used as a paint room. West moved that W. A. Bailey's plans for an extension to A & B Body Shop be approved and the letter dated October 5, 1976, to Don Jack from G. Dierk Ellis, Architect be incorporated as part of the plans, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Rodeberg, Brenner, Best, Scudder, West-. and Swetnam voted aye. Brenner moved that the Special Use Permit pertaining to W. A. Bailey's building be approved, seconded by Scudder, the roll wad called and votes were as follows: Rodeberg, Brenner, Best, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye. 0 Steve Trimai, 5109 High Drive, Riverside, 64151, presented plans for Utility building behind his: house, the planning Commission had recommended approval of the plans to the Board. The plans were approved subject to a letter to be attached to the plans from Paul Owens addressed to the City, advising that he has no objection to the building. Page 2, Reg. Meeting October 5, 1976 Brian Sportsman, 3011 N.E. 37th Terrace, Kansas City, Missouri 64117 presented plans and application for new house in Indian Hills. The plans were approved subject to the payment of the fee. Maurice Pm-eel and Representative of William E. Knapp Company were present to inquire what :could be done about the dust on Mattox road and after the rain the road has been cut up badly. This matter was discussed and it was suggested that the road be inspected and then recommendations be made. A letter from Bill Bright regarding the bookkeeping system for the City was read. It was suggested to get other accounting firms to make their recommendations concerning the bookkeeping system. A discussion was had with regard to Don Witt's monthly bills, and it was suggested that he break down the miscellaneous item into more categories. The Automobile Sticker Ordinance was read and it was decided to change the costs for .the stmckers as follows: $4.00 up to April 1, after April 1, X5.00; After May 1; $6.00; After June 1, $7.00; After July 1, $8.00; After August 1 and thereafter $9.00. West reported on the lights to be installed mi the street in Indian Hills. West moved that the City install a maximum of four lights; no more than three to be on steel poles for the cost of $107.04 per pole per year; and at least one on a wooden pole at the cost of $66.00 per pole per year - each light to have a 175 Watt bulb, seconded by Brenner, the roll was called and votes were .as follows: Rodeberg, Brenner, Best, Scudder, ~nd;We~t t7ot~d aye; Swetnam nay. There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and passed, meeting adjourned.
