HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-07-20CITY OF RIVERSIDE MISSOURI BOARD OF AIDERMEH MINUTES July 20, 1976 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of River- side, Missouri, was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri, on July 20, 1976, at 7:30 p.m. Upon a roll call, aldermen Rodeberg, Scudder, Best, West and Swetnam were present, Brenner absent. Minutes of July 6, 1976, were read and approved. Ken Reedy, 5109 N.W. Lynden Road, Kansas City, Missouri, was present to see if something could be done about not allowing x-rated movies and indecent exposure. 2'his matter was discussed and it was brought out that x-rated movies are not allowed at the drive-ins. F'r`ank Martin, 4406 NW Pawnee Drive, Riverside, Missouri, requested that the City have street lights installed in the area in Indian Hills vdhere there are no street lights. This matter was discussed and it was brought out that there are other areas in the City where street lights should be installed. West and Plymale are to work out the matter of street lights in Indian Hills and Best,~.together with the Street Committee will work out the matter on the remainder of the City. It was also brought out that the streets do not have signs on them. The Mayor aad Hoard were in agreement that the street signs should be ordered and installed. Bids for police cars were opened and were as follows: Galen Boyer Motors Inc. $8,704.18 for two autiomobiles Jack Miller Crysler, Plyp~uuth 5, 382.79 for one automobile P°-~ "` r ' `' ~ e, Ferrel Chevrolet 5,548.00 ('z. ~`-~"~~`' West moved that the City purchase the two Pontiac's at $8,704.18, from Galen Boyar Motors inc. with specifications as set out in the letter attached to the Bid, eecond~d'.by Best, the roll was called and votes were as followas Rodeberg, Best, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye; Brenner absent. Don Witt advised that it was necessary that the. City appoint a Zoning Enforcement Officer. Mayor Young recommended to the Hoard that Geary Hohimer be appointed the Zoning Enforcement Officer. The Board was in favor of the recommendation. West moved that Bill No. 76-18 being bill providing for the appro- priation of money out of the C3eneral Fund of the City of Riverside, Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on its first reading, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and sites were as follows: Rodeberg, Best, Scudder, West and Swetnam voted aye; Brenner absent, said bill was accordingly read. West moved that Bill No. 76-18 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Scudder, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Rodeberg, Best, Scudder, Weat, and Swetnam voted aye; said bill was accordingly read] Swetnam moved that Bill No. 76-18 be placed on its third reading, seconded by West, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Rodeberg, Beat, Scudder, West, and Swetnam voted aye; Brenner absent; said bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part hereof, approved by'Mayor Young and became 9rdinance No. 76-18. Seffit and Rode2~erg checked on Mattox Road, they said they saw Mra. Fleming and that she advised them that she would have the road o3~led within the next week at Fleming and Babcock's exepnse. Rodeberg asked the Board if it would be in order to have a Fall Festival on 8sptember 11, and the Board thought it would be in order. There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and passed.nleeting adjourned.
