BOARD OF ALDERMEN MINUTES
1976
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of River-
side, Missouri, was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri,
on July 6, 1976, at 7:30 P.M. Upon a roll call, aldermen Rodeberg,
Brenner, Scudder and Swetnam were present, Best and West •:~.were absent,
Mayor Young calling said meeting to order.
Minutes of June 15, 1976, were .read and approved as corrected.
Mrs. Burch reported that she had written Eagle Animal Hospital
regarding length of time the City Would be liable for their keeping
animals for the city for observation.
Lester Turner, 6812 N. Madison, K. C., Mo. 64115 and Charles
Luper, 108 Fine Street, Excelsior Springs, Mo. applied for L&C
Body Shop license at 2504 W. Platte Road. A discussion was had with
regard to their keeping the area neat and clean and they advised they
would do their best to keep it clean and orderly, The Board approved
the application subject to the payment of the license fee.
Terry Shuster, 4523A Greystone Court, K. C., Mo. 64151, presented
application for used car lot at the place which was formerly Miller's
Used Cars. He ad~zi:sed that at the present time he was using the small
building on the lot as his office as the permanent office for this
space was being used until the election and then he vaould be able to
move into the space. He advised that he does have access to the
rest rooms in the permanent building. The board approved the application
subject to the payment of the fee and only until January 1, 1976, on
his using the temporary office building.
Ernie Frost, 504 N.W. Woodland, Riverside, Mo. application for
building 22 x 12 feet to be placed on his property in back of his
house. This matter was discussed. The board approved this agi.ication
subject to his making an effort to construct the building of material
similar to that of his house and that some of the Board members are to
consult with him on this matter and that the fee be paid.
Anthony Cappo,405 E. 73rd Terrace, Kansas City, Missouri, requested
that his liquor limese be changed to Class "D". He was rgquested to
complete the application. The Board had no objection to same.
Geary Faucett, 3209 Cerrito Lane, K. C., Mo. presented his
application for remodeling permit. This matter was discussed and
the Board approved same, subject to the payment of the fee.
Don Ranum, representing William A. Knapp Company, 4304 Mattox
Road, Riverside, Missouri wanted to call to the attehtion of the
Board the dusty condition of the road. This matter was discussed
and the Mayor advised that the Road Committee would make a dtudy of

the ai~a~involved and report back.
A discussion was had with regard to the recent fire in Indian
Hills. It was brought out that the Fire Department has filed a formal
comp complaint with Missouri Cities Water Company.
It was brought out that Marvin Layton has requested a radio in
his personal automobile. This matter was discussed. The Board approved
the purchase of the radio with the six channels but not the scanner
and the power supply.
Brenner is to supervise the purchase of a chain saw.
Dean Faulkender presented plans for an addition to the Union Hall.
This matter was discussed. Swetnam moved that the plans be approved,
seconded by Scudder. Don Jack brought out that the had received a
citizen's complaint with regard to the water drainage problem on
the northeast corner (this was about one year ago). The addition of
this to the present building will not change the course of the flow
of water. The vote on the above motion was: Rodebe~ Brenner,
Scudder and Swetnam aye; Beat and West absent.
A discussion on the enlarging of the City Hall was had and
another drawing presented by Don Jack.
Scudder is to purchase a one-ton air conditioner for the police
department.
There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and
passed, meet~g adjouned.
