City of Riverside, Missouri
January 6, 1976
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City
of Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City Hall in Riverside, on
January 6, 1976, at 7:30 p.m. Upon a roll call, aldermen Best, Grogan,
Scudder, Swetnam, and Vulgamott were present, West absent, and Mayor
Czamanske calling said meeting to order.
The minutes of meeting of December 16, 1975, were read and
approved as written and corrected. ~ ~~

Mark Tredennick, owner of the disposal company who asethewasuPresent

in front of the building and which he is using as an office. He reported
to the Board that he had started out with three trucks and now he has ten;
he did not anticipate that his business would increase as fast as it has;
he would like permission to keep the trailer there until he finds a place
to move. This matter was discussed and Mr. Tredennick agreed to move the

Don Jack"introduced Tom Zimmerman, who would handle his matters
in his absence.-
Gary Hohimer, Chief of Public Safety requested that the dispatchers
be made public safety officers this matter was discussed and it was
thought that perhaps during the convention time that this would be done,
if necessary, and the matter was tabled.
Gary Hohimer also requested that permission be given to Wingo, Burns
and Dunham to go to a seminar, also that $90.00 be allocated for their
expenses. This matter was discussed. The Board approved same. Grogan
moved that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to issue a check in the sum
of $90.00 to cover the expenses of the seminar, and receipts of such

A letter dated November 19, from Old Adult Transit Service was
read to the Board and this matter of contributing toward this service
was discussed. The Mayor and Board agreed to write a letter advising that
at the present time, the 1975-76 budjet does not provide for contribution
to this cause and same may be considered at a later date. Mr. Scudder
is to check with Human Resources regarding this matter.
Gary Hohimer set out different requirements which wouldheaMissouri
be met by the Water Company in order to pass inspection by
Insurance Bureau in order to qualify the City for Class 8 insurance rates.

Riverside Drive-In requested permission to wait until March O1,
'.976 to pay its occupation license fee, +a~thout having to pay penalty,

Don Jack inquired whether or not people who contribute toward the
construction of the sewer system would have to pay the $50.00 fee.
This matter was discussed and it was agreed to follow the ordinance,
which required the payment of such fee.
Don Jack advised that with regard to the comprehensive sewer plan,
they have not gotten result of step cne, however it was filed and
he felt certain that it would be approved and that he has started
with Step 2. This matter was discussed and it was agreed that the
election far voting on bonds for this project would be put off until
the fall of 1976. Don Jack advised the Board that certain documents
for the City to approve would be forth coming.
Do;7 Witt discussed with the Board the Housing Code which was
sent to the Mayor and Board previously. Certain changes were discussed
and Don Witt will amend the Code accordingly.
The Bill Board portion of the sign ordinance was discussed and
the Mayor and Board agreed to that portion where the signs be not
c:~oser than 2,000 feet along the Interstate and State Highways and
-that then can be on both sides of the Highways; and that they be
located only in the industrial area.
There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and
passed, meeting adjourned.
