Minutes of Regular Meeting
Board of Aldermen of
City of Riverside, Mo.
April 1, 1975
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri,
on April 1, 1975, at 7:30 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen Fries,
Grogan, Swetnam, Vulgamott and West were present; Bailey absent;
Mayor Czamanske calling said meeting to order.
The Minutes of the meeting of March 25, 1975, were read and
approved as read and corrected.
An announcement of the results of the election was made and
it was decided to swear the new aldermen in at the next regular
meeting unless an emergency arose and in that case the aldermen
would be sworn in immediately before the meeting. The Sales Tax
of 1% which was voted on passed.
Harold A. Eiken, 5420 NW Hillside Road, Kansas City, Missouri,
applied for a business license. He advised that he did sometimes
park his trucks at the Uld 66 Station on Vivian Highway. The
Board approved the application, subject to Eiken removing the
wrecked truck belonging to him at the 66 Station within 90 days,
Eiken agreed to this.
Gary Leftridge, 309 NW 63rd Street, Gladstone, Missouri,
presented application for business license to sell liquir and
other miscellaneous items at the "Old Fata's" place. Geary Hohimer
advised that the investigation of the owners was approved. The
board approved the liquor and business license subject to the
building being completed in accordance with the drawings presented
to the Commission, and approved by the engineer.
A motion was made by West that the applications for liquor and
business be approved subject to the engineer approving the building,
for Leftco Sales #k2, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and all
present voted in favor, Bailey absent.
Mr. Frank Robb, 438 N.W. 58th Street, spoke to the Board with
regard to a new project going in at the location of his residence;
that is after the City of Kansas CSty changes the zoning. He said
dais could possibly cause flooding of areas in and around his house
and also would cause much water coming into the City of Riverside.
He asked if the City had any ideas and could possibly help them
to see if this property could not be rezoned for planned purposes.
Don Jack is to look into the matter and contact the proper office
in Kansas City and will report back to the city within two weeks.

Grogan brought up the matter of securing bids on the completion
of Cerreto Lane and the repair or improvement the bids are on shoild be
in written form. This matter was discussed further.
Vulgamott brought up the subject of the Riverside Plaza Sign;
that there were more names az it than it had started with and the
spaces. were now full. It was also brought out that there were some
signs not in accordance with the sign ordinance and which were not
professionally painted which were for businesses in Riverside Plaza
area. Mayor Czamanske will request Mrs. Colliers to write the
people who have signs, which are not in accordance with the ordinance,
removed.-- namely Carpenter Carpet and North Town Marine.
Swetnam brought up the subject of the maps with wards on them--
they should be posted so that the people can find the wards in which
they are voting -- on election days. Mrs. Colliers is to have this
done.
Vulgamott brought up the subject of the fire last week end
and the fire department people were not notified and if so Eheresmust
have been quite a delay in time in notifying them.
West suggested that Mayor Czamanske write a resolutirn setting
out the City's appreciation of Al Fries' work for the city.
There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded
and passed, meeting adjourned.
