BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
December 3, 1974
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri,
was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri, on December 3, 1974, at 7:30 P,M.
and upon roll call, Aldermen BAiley, Grogan, Swetnam, Vulgamott and WEst were pre-
sent, Fries absent, Mayor Czamanske called said meeting to order.
The minutes of November 19, 1974, were read and approved as read and corrected.
Mr. Ralph E. Pusey, 5841 W. 87th Terrace, Overland Park, Kansas 55207, presented
application on behalf of Wells Fargo, a corporation, 314 N. Broadmore, St. Louis,
Missouri, for a business license for a security guard service in Riverside, Missouri.
Application was approved subject to payment of the fee of $15.00 for last quarter of
1974.
MIdwest Auction Co. application for a business license was approved and fee
accepted. License to be issued for last quarter of 1974.
It was decided to have a meeting of the Board of Aldermen on December 1B, 1974,
to discuss any changes that needed to be made in the renewal of occupation license for
1975.
Mr. Gary Shields, president of Central Fire and Police Supply, Inc. 3117 Merriam
Lane, Kansas City, Kansas, gave a presentation of facts concerning fire trucks and
equipment manufactured by FMC Corporation. Mr. Shields stated that his company
was an authorized service center and sales representative for FMC CORPORATION.
ONe bid was received relative to the purchase of a Fire Truck. This bid from
FMC Corporation was opened and read. The bid was for one HPV-1000 GPM pumper mounted
on an R-200 Warner & Swasey chassis with all accessory equipment furnished by Central
Fire and Police Supply, Inc. for the amount of $71,983.00, delivery to be made subject
to all clauses of the contract in about 180 or 210 working days from receipt of the
chassis to FMC in Tipton, Indiana.
Mr. Gary Shield was asked to explain the terms of the contract for payment of
this bid, if accepted, and he stated that they liked to have one-fifth of the total
amount upon signing of the contract and the balance to be divided in five payments
for the next five years with the interest paid each year on the unpaid balance, first
payment to be one year from delivery. He stated the truck was fully equipped and
ready for service upon delivery except for radio. He also stated there was no pre-
payment penalty.
Bailey moved that Bill No. 74-33 to become an ordinance authorizing the execution
of an agreement with FMC Corporation for the purchase of a fire truck as specified
therein subject to approval of the legality of the contract and form of the contract
by the City Attorney: Section 1. The mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to "
execute the attached contract marked Exhibit A and made a part of this Ordinance as
though fully set out therein authorizing the leasing of a fire truck in accordance
with the contract attached hereto for the price of $71,983.00. Section 2. This
ordinance is expressly subject to the approval of the City Attorney as to the legality and
form thereof, be placed on its first reading, seconded by Vulgamott, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: BAiley, Grogan, Vulgamott and WEst voted aye, Swetnam voted
nay; Fries absent.
