October 9, 1973 A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, was had on October 9, 1973, at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri, upon a roll call, aldermen Bailey, Grogan, Swetnam and Vulgamott were present, Fries, and West were absent, Mayor Czamanske calling said meeting to order. The minutes of regular meeting of October 2, 1973, were read and approved as read and corrected. The purpose of the special meeting was to open bids for the improvement of High Drive from its junction with the right of way of I-635 to the junction of Northwood Road. It was announced that the Animal Ordinance was not ready and would be brought up at the next regular meeting of the Board. The Bids on Improvement of High Drive were as follows: Mid Continent Asphalt & Paving Company Seal-O-Matic Curb and Paving Co.,Inc. $29,600.00 28,039.00 Bailey reported that he tried to contact the propar'par~y for the City of Kansas City, Missouri, who could give him an answer whether or not the City of Kansas City, Missouri, would pay for 1/2 of the cost of Overlaying High Drive where it was 1/2 in the City of Kansas City, Missouri and the other half in the City of Riverside, Missouri, but he was not able to get in touch with the right person. He advised he would continue to try to get in touch with the person in charge of this matter. Vulgamott moved that the City accept the bid of Seal-O-Matic Curb and Paving Co., Inc. in $ie sum of $28,039.00, but the work is not to be started until a week from Wednesday, October 10, 1973, or until the City of Kansas City, Missouri has given Riverside, Missouri, an - answer regarding whether or not they will absorb 1/2 of the cost of the improvement on High Drive, where it extends in the City of Kansas City, Missouri, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and all present voted in fravor, Fries and West absent. Special Meeting October 9, 1973 Page 2, The repair of 50th Street was discussed and it was brought out that the Twin Drive-In Theatre agreed to rep i ze• treet at its cost if they could use the street as an exit.~~ry Hohimer advised. the Board that the Police Department had no objection to the Theatre using the street as an exit, if the City had no objection, this would be used as a South-Bound Exit only and the North-Bound Exit wou ld be the entrance to the Theatre. The Theatre wanted an agreement with the City if it agreed to this. The Board was in agreement that it had no objection to the Theatre using ~Oth Street if this was used for a south-bound exit and the regular entrance was, used as north-bound exit, then in this case, the Theatre would pay for the repair of 50th Street. Bailey reported on the cost of salt for the streets, -- if the salt was obtained from Cargill, Inc, the cost would be $1.27 per bag if delivered and $1.05 per bag if picked up. It was suggested to check other sources to see if a better price could be obtained on the salt. There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and passed, meeting adjourned, -- approximately 9:30 p.m.
