Aldermen was held con- cerning personnel matters between 7:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. T'ne re;ular meeting be ;an at F, :50 p .:n. wit': Aldermen Grogan, Bailey Vulgamott, Fries, Swetnam and Z-lest present. Meeting; was called to order ':,y RZayor. Czamanske. Dispensed with the reading of minutF>s of last meeting because City Clerk was not present. N?ayor Czamanske advised there T.rould not be a decision as to appointing a Fire Chief at this time. A further report from Pir. b'itzpatrick is expected. Officers who are interested in applying; are welcome to come in to be reviewed by Alderman Grogan and/or Chief of Police uohimer. Don Jack, Acting; City .Engineer, reported South Drive and ??ill- side streets should be finished by July 31, 1973. die has asked for contract to do ,Wore back slopinfi on ditches. Swetnam asked about hook-up on main sewer to City Mall. Don Jack aas nothin to report concerning; this at this time. T~1r. Jack presented to the Board plans on small ~Jrarehouse addition of basic structural steel. 'T_'he plans of All State Machinery, Inc, concerning; a building addition as a recommendation for approval accepted by the Board of Aldermen and perrlit z~ill be issued, the fee of ;90.00 for buildi_n„ per.,,it having been submitted. Subject to an application bein; presented, the 3uilding Permit vaill be issued. Alderman G.rest .recommended that the Planning Commission ask for a sign detail ~n sign re;ulations until the City obtains a :?onir._-; Code. Grogan moved that Bill No. 73-25 bein° an Ordinance establish- in~ a license fee to '~e paid by person, firms, or corporations en- Uaged in the Business of supplying natural or manufactured ;v,as, electricity, water or telephone service to customers ~Jaithin the corporate limits of the City of Riverside; Establish~n~ the rate of such license fee: Fixin the time when such fee shall commence: And repealin7 all OrdinancPS or parts of Ordinances in conflict therewith. Swetnam moved that Bill No. 73-23 being an Ordinance ;ranting Kansas City Yower ~c Light Company, its successors and assigns, a franchise and authorization to construct, overate and maintain all appropriate facilities for carrying on a power and light business, urantin~ the ri~,ht to sue the streets, alleys and all other public places therefor, and prescribin*, the terms and conditions of such authorization. Grown moved that Sill No, 73-24 bei_n? an Ordinance granting to The CTas Service Company, a Corporation, operating a gas distribution system in The City of Riverside, i•Tissouri, its successors or assigns, a franchise to operate a natural gas distri'ution plant and system in said City and relating thereto. Motion seconded by Swetnam, '^hero11 was called and votes c,rere as follows: Grogan, Bailey, Vulgamott, Fries, Swetnam and Z~?est voted aye. Witt submitted Ordinance establishinn the require- nments for issuance of Building Permits, Chances tirere made and dis- cussion only. Tabled for later consideration. Grogan moved that Bill £to. 73-26 being an Ordinance fixing the salary of any City Police Judge elected subsequent to the effective date of this ordinance and amending code section 2.2 to comply with the intent of this Ordinance. Motior. seconded by Liest. The roll was called and votes were as follows: Croman,. Bailey, ;'~zlamott, Pries, Swetnam and `.;est voted aye.
