A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City Hall in Riverside, on
September 26, 1972, at 6:30 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen
Grogan, Shelton, Swetnam and Vulgamott were present, Bailey and
Ffies absent, Mayor Czamanske calling said meeting to order.
The purpose of the special meeting was for going over the
general budget and talking about mailing addresses.
Mr. Burichter, mail carrier for most of Riverside, Missouri,
had earlier requested the City to name the new No.9 Highway, as
the addresses being used along the said Highway were the same as
those used from Parkville to Platte Woods.
After a discussion of this matter, it was agreed :by the Board
to name the street River Park Drive and it was the understanding
that Mr. Burichter would work with Parkville to see if they would
not use the same name on their portion of No. 9 Highway coming
through the Parkville limits.
Upon motion by Grogan that No. 9 Highway which runs through
the City of Riverside, Missouri, be named River Park Drive, and
that same be bill~';and placed on its first reading, seconded by
Swetnam, the roll was called and Brogan, Shelton, Swetnam and
-- Vulgamott voted aye; Bailey and Fries a])eent, said bill was accordingly
read.
Siaetnam moved that rules be suspended and said bill be placed
on its second reading, seconded by Vulgamott, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: Grogan, Shelton, Swetnam and Vulgamott
voted aye; Bailey and Fries absent; said bill was accordingly read.
Vulgamott moved that rules be suspended and said bill be placed
on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance,
seconded by Shelton, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Grogan, Shelton, Swetnam and Vulgamott voted aye; Bailey, and Fries
absent; said bill was accordingly read, approved by Mayor Czamanske
and became Ordinance."
Mr. Burichter agreed to meet with Riverside Business people
on Thursday, September 28, 1972, and help out with the numbering
of houses and businesses in Riverside.
Mayor Czamanske advised that on October 7, at 9:30 a.m. that
there will be a meeting with two men from the Misso uri Municipal
League, the City Auditors, Mayor Czamanske, Geneve Nelson and Ruth
Collier and Irene Paulhe to work out different record keeping problems
for the City.

* It was suggested that the Assistant City Clerk write the Missori
Department of Revenue concerning SB 263, effective August 13, 1972,
as to why Riverside does not receive a 30% increase in its Gasoline
Tax revenue collected by the State.
* It was suggested that the Assistant City Clerk contact the
North Kansas City, Missouri, City Clerk concerning the type of revenue
it receives as to occupation licenses from warehousing type of
businesses.
* It was suggested that the Assistant City Clerk write the City
Attorney advising that it is the Board of Aldermen's desire that
Riverside, Missouri, increase its franchise tax with the Gas Service
Comp~y and Kansas City Power & Light Company from its :present
5% to 10% and thtt the Franchise be for 10-year period, and that
the City increase the tax on Mssouri Cities Water Company and
Southerwestern Be11 Telephone Company to 10% without a franchise.
* Check on Andes and Roberts Town house Project to see if its
building permit for the second phase has expired.
* Check to see if Kalivas Realestate and Victor Panus':Realestate
businesses have occupation licenses.

* It was suggested to bring up the matter of snow removal
at the regular Board Meeting.
Ma~aor Czamanske advised he had received a phone call from
a Mrs. Atwell who lives on Mandan Road, that it needed graded.
The Board discussed the mater and it was the consensus of the
Board that the Culvert at Mrs. Atwell's property was too small to
carry the water and therefore, it would cross the road and wash out
places.
* It was suggested that the Assistant City Clerk write Mrs. Atwell
advising her of the situation, that the culvert will have to be
replaced with a larger one, at her expense.
(AS MATTER OF INFORMATION, IT WAS AGREED THAT THE MAYOR AND BOARD
- MEMBERS WOULD RECEIVE $10.00 PER MEETING ATTENDED -- THEY WOULD
BE ALLOWED MISSING TWO MEETINGS FOR WHICH THEY WOULD BE PAID)(THESE
WOULD BE REGULAR MEETINGS FOR -WHICH THEY ARE ALLOWED TO MISS TWICE

passed, meeting adjourned.
