City of Riverside, Mo.
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside,
Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on June 6,
1y72, at 7:00 p.m, and upon a rollcall, aldermen Bailey, Fries,'
Shelton, Grogan, Swetnam were present, Vulgamott absent and Mayor
Czamanske was present and called said meeting to order.
Minutes of re„ular .neeting of May 16, 1y72, were read and approved
as read.
The matter of Mr. Hecker keeping the cars which wage impounded by the
police department and the matter of his charging the City X0.00 per
month if the city built the fence around the place to keep the cars
or if Mr. Hecker built the fence he would charge $1$0.00 per month
for a five-year period. Mr. Grogan stated that he dot a bid from
Mr. Alexander the he would hold the cars for $50.00 per month and
behind a fence and locked gates. Since this was brought up at the
last meeting, it was decided to see what the cost of a fence would
be and then a decision could be made.
Mr. Holder spoke to the Council with retard to the increasing of
thejnsurance and explained that it would cost more if the city di~n~t
bake the package deal. The council advised the they would study the
matter and Mr. Holder would be advised by June 15, 172.
Mr. Koehler inquired with regard to his black-topping the short
street in Indian Hills Addition (Pawnee Drive) as he wss advised
that no other permits would be issued to him for buildin_s until
this street was put up to City~s specifications. Shelton .noved that
the Koehler bring up the Street to City~s specifications, seconded
by Bailey, the roll wes called and all voted in favor. Mr. Koehler
t ~ stated that had he known the City wanted the street to City~s specification:
he would have done this when he hid the other streets paved. Mr. Don
p~~ Witt su;,_tested to Mr. Koehler that he check with the City Engineer
N~ with re and to the City~s Streets Specifications before conpletin
tl`,work. Mr.Koehler stated he would do what he could starting
immediately.

The natter of changing the name of streets in Riverside was brought
up and Mr. Witt advised that all was necessary was a::motion passed.
After a discussion, it was decided not to change the name of the
street as requested, since the addresses of the houses would be
worked out

For the record, a letter was read fro;n the Planning Corn•missinn with
retard to Mr. Gearyj$aucettis house in Cerito Lane in Seven Oaks,
that the Commission approved the plans and just wanted to bring it
to the City~s attention that the amount for paving the street was
not paid, whether or not this was necessary, was for the Cityts

approval or disapproval. Mr. King the person to construct the house
stated he thought that the people who sold the property to Mrr1 Faucett
checked with the city and that the money for the street would not
have to be paid and there was no lien on the property. He was advised
by the douncil that there was no lien on the property, however the
Council thought that the amount the other people paid should be
also charged to other builders in this addition on this street. The
8ouncil decided to keep this natter until the next special session
or next regular meeting.
Mr. Hohn~s plans for club house were approved by the Council, upon a
motion by Fries and seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and all
present voted in favor, Vulgamott absent.
Swetnam moved that Bill providin„ for the passae of the Nuisance
Ordinance (Chapter 14) be placed on its first reading, seconded by
Fries, the roll was called and all voted in favor, Vulgamott absent,
said Bill was accordingly read.
Shelton roved that rules be suspended and s~tl bill be placed on
its second reading, seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and
all voted in fa~~~or, Vul;~anott absent.; said bill was accordingly read.
Grown moved that rules be suspended and that said bill be placed
on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance, seconded
by Swetna!n, the roll was called and all voted in favor, Vulgamott absent,
said bill was accordingly read, approved by Mayor Cza~nanske and becane
ordinance.
Shelton moved that Bill providin;; for the location and time of the
Council meetings (Chapter 2.5) be placed on its first reading, seconded
by Eir!i~s~~~, the roll was called and .all voted in fa~mr, Vulgamott absent.
Said bill was accordinly read.
Grogan roved that rules be suspended and said bill be placed on its
second reading, seconded by Shelton, the roll was called and all voted
in favor, Vulgamott absent, said bill was accord in.ly read.
Bailey !roved that rules be suspended and said bill be placed on its
third reading and upon passa.,e of same become Ordinance, seconded by
Fries, the roll was called and all voted in favor, Vulgamott absent;
said bill was accordingly read, approved by Mayor Czamanske and beca,~e
ordinance.
The matter of preparing ordinance amending 2.7 to read co.npensation
to be paid the aldermen and mayor for the special ~neetin~s as well
as regul~a meetings would be forth coming for the next meeting.
Swetnam moved that the City pay Mr. Hecker $;0.00 for storing impounded
cars, seconded by Grogan, the roll was celled and votes were as follows:
Bailey-No, Fries, Yes, Grogan, Yes; Shelton,No; Swetnam-Yes; V~anott-absent,

Fries moved that the City pay Mr. Hecker $1;0.00 for the keepinb of
the impounded cars, seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: all voted in favor, Vulgarnott absent.
Mr. Grogan reported on meeting had by the Ealice Committee and sta~3
that Geary Hohi~ner carne up with a budget for next year of $,:0,000;
that he wanted permission to brim, up the reserve to 20 as they
are down to 11 and would like to putout applications to see if can
,et Wore reserve policemen; and also the police department wanted
permit to use motor cycles on duty. The ccamp~jter syste n will be
in operation Jun3 15. The police department has put in request
for funds for next year with the Highway Safety Progran which pays
$100 or $200 on the expenses of the policemen; and pays 50~ on three
officers; also stated they could get City Clerks salary paid;
G organ moved that Bill No. D-72-10 being bill providing for the
appropriation of money out of the General Fund of the City of Riverside
Missouri be p~id~to the people and companies listed therein, seconded
by Bailey, the roll was called and all present voted in favor, Vulgamott
absent; said bill was accordingly read.
