HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-04-04k'O~2 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of The City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, on April 4, 1972, at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen Bailey, Layton, Fries, Swetnam and Vulgamott were present, Shelton absent; and Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order. Minutes of March 21, 1972, were read and accepted as read. Bailey moved that bill for canvassing the return of the. general election be placed on its first reading, seconded by Vulgamott, the roll was called and Bailey, Layton, Fries, Swetnam and Vulgamott voted aye; Shelton, absent, said bill was accordingly read. Swetnam moved that rules be suspended and said bill be placed on its second reading, seconded by Fries, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Bailey, Layton, Fries, Swetnam and Vulgamott voted aye; Siaelton absent, said bill was accordingly read. Layton moved that rules be suspended and said bill be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance, seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Bailey, Layton, Fries, Swetnam and Vulgamott voted aye; Shelton absent; said bill was accordingly read approved by Mayor Filger and became Ordinance. Layton brought up the subject that he would like to see that all wages on elected officials be frozen. He also brought up the matter that he wanted the council to notify the public if the City decides to place any kind of tax on the residents, so that they will be aware of it. Also if there is a voting on the taxing that the general public be notified of the said tax and that there will be voting on it. Mr. Czamanske, the new elected mayor, stated that he is all for notifying the general public of any taxes to be placed on the people. Mr. Layton then moved that the general public be notified of any tax the City wanted to place on the people, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and all voted in favor, Shenton, absent. Mr. Hecker and Mr. Kahler presented building applications, the council approved same. Vulgamott moved that we passed on the last building permit without the ~ilanning Commission looking oversame and presenting same to Council with its opinion and from this date all the plans and applications for new buildings should go through the Planning Commission and they will then give them to the Council with its opinion, seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Bailey,Fries, Swetnam and Vulgamott voted aye; Layton nay, Shelton absent. Page 2, Reg. Meeting April 4, :::_972 Swetnam wanted to know the date of the Planning Commission's meetings and he was advised that they were on the second Tuesday of ..each month ab 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall in Riverside. Vulgamott moved that Bill D-72-6 being bill providing for the appropriation of funds out of the general fund of the City of Riverside, Missouri be placed on its first reading, seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and votes Vb~~@ as follows: Bailey, Layton, Fries, Swetnam and Vulgamott voted aye, Shelton absent, said bill was accordingly read. v Bailey moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-72-6 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Fries, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Bailey,Layton,Fries,Swetnam and Vulgamott voted aye; Shelton absent, said bill was accordingly read. Swetnam moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-72-6 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and votes were es follows: Bailey, Layton, Fries, Swetnam and Vulgamott voted aye; Shelton absent, said bill was accordingly read. Bailey moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-72A6 be placed on -its third reading, secpmded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Bailey, Layton, Fries, Swetnam and Vulgamott voted aye; Shelton absent „ said Bill was addordingly read, approved by Mayor Filger and became Ordinance No. D-72-6. There being no further business, upon motion duly made and seconded by Vulgamott and Bailey respectively, said meeting adjourned.
