HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-02-01Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board of Aldermen of February 1~, 1972, A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, on February 1, 1972, at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen Bailey, Shelton, Swetnam and Vulgamott.were present, Fries absent for roll call only and Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order. Minutes of regular meeting of January 18, 1972, were read and approved as read. Mr. Ramsey applied for business license and same were approved. The matter of Green's Trailer Park sewer was again brought up and it was suggested that Mr. Jack, Mr. Clevenger, Mr.Rieneke and ~~-~- Mrs. Green confer in the back office and work out all necessary~~or the sewer project. The matter of Bollum and Brown's brick veneering their building was brought to their attention by Mr. Hohimer and he was advised that they would appear at the next meeting and also they were of the opui.on that they, at the time of building application were to see what the cost of veneering two sides of the building would be and if it were not too costly, they would do both sides, otherwise just the front. Mr. Hohimer also stated he inquired with regard to the junk yard appearance starting on U.S.69 and he had given notice to clean up the place and would give 15 days in which to do so, however, he said if they were not starting in five days, he would give them a summons to appear in court and fine them. He thought they would clean up the place. The matter of posting bonds by people using heavy equipment over the roads and the conditions of the roads before and after the moving of the heavy equipment was brought up. Bailey moved that Don Jack IDe the party examining the roads before the movement of the equipment or hauling of dirt and then after the project is completed, he would examine the roads and advise the cost of repair for the damage caused by the movement of the equipment, seconded by Vulgamott, the roll was called and x~o~ all present voted in favor, Layton absent. Upon motion by Vulgamott that Bill No. D-72-3 being bill providing for the appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City of Riverside for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on its first reading, seconded by Bailey, the rollwas called and votes were as follows:Bailey,Fries}. Shelton, Swetnam, and Vulgamott voted aye; Layton absnet, said bill~was accordingly read. Minutes of Reg. Meeting Feb. l~, 1972. Page 2, 1972 Fries moved that rules be suspended and Bill be placed on its second reading, seconded by Shelton, the roll was called and votes were as follows, Bailey,Fries,Shelton,Swetnam and Vulgamott voted aye; Layton absent; said bill was accordingly read. Swetnam moved that rule on its third reading any No. D-72-3, seconded by were as follows:Bailey¢ aye; Layton absent; said Mayor Filger and became be suspended and Bill No. D-72-3 be placed upon passage of same become Ordinance Bailey, the roll was called and votes Fries; Shelton,Swetnam and Vulgamott voted bill was accordingly read, approved by Ordinance No. D-72-3. There being no further business, upon motion duly made seconded and passed, said meeting was adjourned. l 7Jr
